If you could live in either the Twilight Northwest or the True Blood south, which would you choose?

The South.

To echo Bella Swan: I don't really like the rain. Any cold, wet thing . . . Smiley

I like the cold (though I prefer True Blood), so the north for me.

Give me the heat and the sun any day.  (And Charlaine Harris' characters and writing...)

I'm with Marguerite - north west. I couldn't stand the heat and humidity way down south. I come from a very cold country; I'd shrivel and die in the southern US!

I would prefer to live in the Pacific Northwest, as long as it didn't require me to read the Twilight books again.

South. Nicer weather, the vampires aren't sparkly, and I wouldn't mind being close by to Eric Northman either  Grin

Are we talking True Blood the books or True Blood the TV show?

I love the Southern Vampire Mystery Series, but True Blood gets on my nerves.  As for Twilight, I'd be summoning my inner Buffy so fast...

Anyway, I'm thinking the place to be is Anne Rice's New Orleans.

Ah ha!  A tangential thread.  True Blood, Twilight or Buffy.  Smiley  I would originally have said South, but toss in the world of Buffy and I say dump me in "Sunnydale" CA.

Nicely stated . . . I realized when I was reading Twilight that the biggest appeal of the story to me wasn't the plot or characters.  It was the setting.  I was born and spent my childhood in a small town eerily similar to the setting in Twilight--roughly 3000 people, remote, lots of water, lots of trees, cold, wet weather, mountains, and a reservation nearby where my sister and her family lived.  No sparkly vampires, though, at least none that I know of, though we could hear wolves howling in the woods at night.  I miss it sometimes . . .

You'd want to live on the Hellmouth?  You're braver than me.

I would probably go with the Northwest.

For one, I already live in that area and it is comfortable to me; the month I spent down south with a cousin was major culture shock.

For two, I don't like the nasty storms the south seems to get hit with.  While the Northwest gets storms, we don't end up with huge hurricanes that demolish half a state.
