Thanks for the thorough review and the added pics. It was very helpful since I was considering buying one for my daughter. I already bought a book buddy for myself, hasn't arrived yet though.

http://www.readingcomfort.com/Book_Buddy_s/3.htmThey do have them on Amazon but Amazon doesn't have the widest selection. The Book Buddy™ holds both hardcover and softcover books in place with adjustable ribbons for hands-free reading. The special filling in the pillow makes any book feel practically weightless. Each Book Buddy™ comes with a sparkling clear acrylic desktop that slips into place and converts your reading pillow into a writing desk. The durable desktop also serves as a handy platform for your laptop computer, keeping the warm surface off your legs and elevating the computer to a position that most people find perfect for both reading and typing. Simply slide your laptop under the diagonal ribbons to safely secure it the most comfortable position. The vertical ribbons go over the cover of the book and the diagonal ones hold the pages. So you can read hands free.

I don't think the bookbuddy is really ideal for reading with the K. I did try it with my K in the oberon cover and it didn't really hold it well. The Peeramid is probably better for K. Although there is a really cool plastic top that hooks to the bookbuddy that you could read on too. It's meant as a writing pad and for using with a laptop. I haven't drug my laptop out to try it yet, but I did attach the plastic top and it would be really nice for writing I think.
I do really like the bookbuddy for DTBs.

How easy is it to turn pages when using a DTB in the Book Buddy? I can see how it holds the book open so you can read hands free, but I wondered how it is to turn pages.

it's simple. You can choose how many of the pages you want held, all of them and then slip each one out as you read or just some of them and when you are done reading for now you can slip the ones red into the left and save your place.

Oooh! I want a Peeramid!!! They are pretty pricey, though. The only one at drugstore.com is burgundy (I want Kiwi to complement Kate Kindle's ensemble). Anyone found them for less than $30 w/ low shipping cost?

I have both book buddy and peeramid pillows. I've just started using the peeramid for reading a hardcover DTB. Although it's not a completely hands free experience, I don't have to hold the book and it's very comfortable for me. When I use the book buddy, I use the peeramid behind it.
I always use the peeramid for at-home kindle reading.

A few updates on my Peeramid review:
The Peeramid was one of the first accessories I bought for my Kindle, and at first, I loved it so much that I ended up buying two--one for the bedroom, one for the living room. I used them constantly in the first couple of months. But gradually, over time, I stopped using them much at all, finding comfortable positions that didn't require the use of a prop. And I didn't need them as much once I went with a much lighter cover than the Oberon I started out with.
Then into our lives came the iPads, both for my husband and myself.
Suddenly, the Peeramids came back into service in a big way. They're at a perfect angle for viewing or surfing, and horizontally, an uncased iPad fits snugly into the groove between the peak and the border of the pillow. And they're terrific at supporting the heavier iPad weight. We find ourselves fighting over the single one available wherever we are, and inevitably someone ends up grabbing the second one from down the hall. LOL
They still are in fine shape, though they've been used and even ... horrors ... sat upon, and they've kept looking sharp with minimal spot treatment. One nice advantage is that when not in use, we simply toss them on the couch or bed with the point of the Peeramid facing backwards, so you see the base of the pillow. That way, it looks like any other toss pillow!
They've been a good investment, all in all, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

Funny you should bump this up tonight. Earlier this evening we decided that 2 weren't enough anymore. The BRATs have now taken over my spare one that I keep near my reading chair. I'm getting ready to order at least one more.
Like me, the BRATs like using them to read in bed.
