Happy April Fools Day. It's time to start the game. As A reminder, here is a list of selectors and selectees: | Selector | Selectee | Genres | Dealbreakers | | Annalog | luvmy4brats | No Usual genre Here's my Goodreads Link so you can see what I've read: www.goodreads.com | Graphic Violence; Horror; Religion/politics | | Basilius | Geoffrey | Science Fiction; Fantasy; Alternate History; gay themed books. You can find me on goodreads here. | No Deal Breakers | | drenfrow | MoyJoy | My goodreads For me price is not a deal breaker so my selector can do more than 9.99 if they're passionate about it. | historical/non-fiction; TALKING ANIMALS! | | Emily King | Basilius | Science Fiction; Military History | Romance (Paranormal or otherwise), Horror, and Religion (with intent to convert). | | fadedrainbows | drenfrow | Mystery, Fantasy/Sci Fi, Science/History of Science | extreme violence/gore, extreme sadness, horror/scary stuff, You can check out my books on Goodreads: Donna's Books | | Geemont | RiddleMeThis | Romance; Science Fiction/Fantasy; Murder/Crime Mystery | Religion(allusion is ok; but no books who's story line is trying to save my soul); Politics; Non-fiction; And if it is a series it must be the first one in the series | | Geoffrey | Margaret | Mysteries; Historical Fiction; Chick Lit This is the link to my Goodreads Account | No Deal Breakers | | hsuthard | Geemont | My 12 Kindleboard Game Books
All Books Since December 1990
| None. | | imalbs | Tuttle | Fantasy, Science Fiction | I'm going to have to set some sort of monetary limit. This may be edited but for now lets say $5. Nothing extremely depressing. | | izzy | SongbirdVB | Fiction - crime, suspense, mystery, romance, comedy, vampire | overly gory (which would include most zombie books I've tried), political (including war/spy stuff), Stephen King, religious with the intent to convert me. | | kaotickitten | vg | I'll try anything - I picked my book this month simply because I had read the other choice. It was such fun to enter the story without any idea of what it would be, that I would like to try it again in April. So..... please don't bother giving me choices or reviews. Just give me a title and a link to purchase and I am good to go! | as long as it doesn't have gratuitous graphic sex and/or violence. | | KingAl | Emily King | Urban Fantasy; Paranormal; Horror; Mystery here is my Goodreads | Non-Fiction; Religious / political with the intent of change; Harlequin-style romance. Chick Lit. I would prefer an indie or something less expensive, if possible. | | luvmy4brats | fadedrainbows | Paranormal Romance, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Chick Lit My Goodreads | I am a college student, so less than 1000 pages would be lovely! And if it stays under the $10 limit, that would be amazing. | | Margaret | hsuthard | Urban fantasy, female sleuths, bestsellers and mysteries. Here is my Goodreads | overly long books. | | MissStar | RavenclawPrefect | Science Fiction; Thriller/Mystery; Contemporary Fiction | Non-fiction; Bodice Rippers; Graphic Violence/ Gore (over the top, pages describing dismemberment type things); Religious | | MoyJoy | MissStar | Paranormal Romance and Suspense (i.e. Dean Koontz) GoodReads Profile | I'm going with none this time | | RavenclawPrefect | kaotickitten | Christian Romances, YA fantasy | No Deal Breakers | | RiddleMeThis | izzy | Young adult, romance, paranormal you can see my goodreads here. | just keep in mind my husband is deployed so no violent war books please; also nothing longer than 500 pages | | SongbirdVB | Tjsmetana | fantasy, paranormal, romance, SciFi, Chick Lit My Goodreads | No Deal Breakers | | Tjsmetana | Annalog | Science Fiction; Mystery; Fantasy, I have an account on Goodreads | No Deal Breakers | | vg | KingAl | Sci-fi/fantasy, Mystery/thrillers | Romance |

Ok Izzy. I checked through your good reads and hope I picked two that you haven't read. If you've read them just let me know and I'll grab different ones. The first is a YA novel. It's the first in a series, and one I enjoy and hope you will too. The second is a vampire/paranormal romance. It is also the first in a series.

Hi Geoffrey! I am heading out of town for the weekend early tomorrow and will have sketchy access to my computer for the next few days. Could you please post my picks for KingAl? I hate to make him wait... thanks, and a big hug to you! KingAl - if neither of these appeals, let me know and I will put the thinking cap back on... The Hunger GamesThis book was one of my assignments for this game, and I liked it so much that I read the whole series. It is a YA novel, but don't let that put you off - its a really good read. Also, it is lendable and I would be glad to loan it to you. Cruise Confidential: A Hit Below the Waterline: Where the Crew Lives, Eats, Wars, and Parties. One Crazy Year Working on Cruise ShipsThis is one of those books that peels back the curtain - I have cruised and will look at it in a whole different way from now on.

Margaret, I have a few, very different choices for you this month. I couldn't decide what direction to go .... The first is one of the novels that helped found the sub-genre of historical fantasy. I first read this as a boy and I've read it 4 or 5 times since then (Including this week) and its as wonderful today as it was back then. Deryni Rising by Katherine Kurtz Your second choice is also a classic and also helped found a sub-genre: this time it's apocalyptic fiction. Published in the late 40's this is the story of the few survivors of a global plague. The Earth Abides by George Stewart The third is a memoir. This is the story of a young girl caught up in the rise of Cambodia's Khmer Rouge. I've debated adding this one as it's not an easy book - but it touched me deeply when I first read it. First They Killed My Father by Luong Ung

Hsuthard - Here are my picks for you: The first is a book that was recommended to me as a Christmas gift for my daughter's boyfriend. He lent it to me, and it is one of the best books I have read about the Vietnam War. The second is already on your Goodreads to be read list, so I thought that you might have it already and would not have to purchase it. I would classify it as historical fiction so it is a bit out of your normal range. It is longish, but a great book. If neither of these work for you let me know, and I will get back to you. Happy reading!

MoyJoy, I hope you are in the mood for some humor. My first pick is: This edition is an incredible deal. It has 5 novels in it, so when you get into it, as I'm sure you will (lord knows, I've never been wrong ), you can keep on reading. My second choice is a David Sedaris book. If you've never read him, this one is a good place to start. He is incredibly funny. Let me know if you'd like other choices.

Basilius, here are my selections for you: If you would like to stay in your comfort zone, I give you this selection: (supposed to be Blood, not Bieber - I think David may be trying to get a new fan base) Something that might be kind of comfort, but maybe not (I am incredibly annoyed with the publisher on this one - not sure why the kindle version is so ridiculously priced at $15 - maybe go to the library or get the DTB?): And one of my favorite books of all time (another one I'm highly annoyed with the publisher): If you would like other selections let me know. This has been REALLY difficult for me, since my normal genre is in your deal breaker list.

Riddlemethis I'm going with Dark Lover. I'll start it once I finish up last months book. SongbirVB here are my picks for you This is a paranormalish mystery. Its more in your zone, but its a great book. This is a very fantasy style book and it was free a long time ago on kindle so you may already own it too. I recommended this last month, but its one of my favorite sci-fi series. Its got a lot of twists and is just a really fun read. If none of these appeal to you let me know and I'll go pick out something else. edit: fixed my links just realized they showed all the same book lol

Annalog, Here are my selections for you. If none of these work for you, let me know and I will post some different choices. First choice is a family drama by Kristin Hannah. She has quickly become my favorite writer, although I will admit her stories make me cry. Second choice is the first novel in a paranormal suspense series by Karen Marie Moning. The last book in the series was just released in January 2011. And of course I have to throw in a talking cat. Joe Grey is a mystery-solving-talking cat. This is the first book in the series.

Geoffrey, given our usual genres overlap completely, I'm stepping back into my reading past for this one. While I haven't read this in a long time, it was good enough for me to re-read, and that's rare for me: If you like this one, Bolt is the direct sequel, and it's almost as good. As an alternate, let's try this. It's a recent victim of Agency pricing, unfortunately, but it's the best book I've read in the past year:

Izzy, you must REALLY want me to read Deadly Little Lies! All of the links were to the same book! So, I'll select that one. But please let me know what the other choices were in case I have time for another book. Tjsmetana, I didn't see any crime or mystery in your usuals so have selected these for you: I love James Patterson and he did not disappoint in this book. It was a freebie pre-order so you may already have it. This book was light and fun to read. It also had me reevaluating how I look at the elderly. I liked it so much I bought the next one in the series and am getting ready to buy the third. I really like the main character in this book. It's the 10th in a series but is the first one I read and didn't seem to matter much. If none of these appeal to you please let me know, I'll try again!

The pricing on that one has me pretty angry - I bought the paper version, which you can even buy the hardback for less than the kindle one. It's definitely a good read - maybe check it out from the library?? I hope you like Shadow of the Wind - it's a very well-done translation.

Ok, Ravenclaw, here's what I've got so far: This is the first in a trilogy. It's listed as $5. However, if it sounds interesting, you can get the whole trilogy in one book for $9.99 here: Almost Human ~ The First Trilogy ~ 3-in-1 Bundle. The second book I picked for you is: Now, I know it's Nora Roberts, but I don't consider it a Bodice Ripper. This is also the first book in a trilogy. If you don't feel like starting a series, here's the first book I ever read by my aboslute favorite author. It does have a bit of violence, but I don't think it's over-the-top or too graphic. (I usually can't read those type of books, either.) If none of these sound good, PLEASE do not hesitate to ask me for new selections! I really want to give you a book you will like.

Thanks MissStar, I went with Fatal Infatuation. Looks interesting! kaotickitten, here are my selections for you I saw someone else recommend it last month and ended up getting it. It is the first in a series but can stand alone. My second choice, in case you have read this, is a classic. I loved this book growing up and had a signed copy of it.

MISS STAR!!! I hope you didn't read these already. I tried to check your Good Reads but there were so many books it was taking a long time to load! In the spirit of this lovely day here's your first choice! And this book I recently read randomly. It actually caught my eye becuase I was a fan of Lost and was curious about the author. LOL! But I read it and I LOVED it! Funny too! It's part of a series actually but I only found that out after when I was looking into which of his books I should read next. So I really don't believe you'll need to read anything of his other in the series to love this one. I didn't. hope you enjoy!
