Is the kindle 3 good? Is there some common problems with it? Is it less stable than the kindle 2?

Good to here! Heard about people having some trouble. Especially with cold. Not using it in the cold, but transporting.

I've been using my Kindle 3 for several weeks now and had no problems at all. I was a bit sceptical at first about the Kindle but decided to get one for an up coming long business trip, partly to same carrying lots of books. I am most impressed, especially with the easy to read fonts. One thing I didn't realise until afterwards was that the 3G is not totally free, if you want to upload pdf's through 3G there is an upload charge. My biggest criticism is that when you go to buy a book after you have registered there is no subsequent password check. I recommend putting an access password on the kindle itself. Whilst scanning a potential book, I was horrified to see that the sensitive keys had inadvertently bought the book. Yes I was able to cancel but the charge goes through and can take several days to be refunded.
The Kindle itself is a masterpiece, the books vary a great deal. Some books are just not available, some are badly formatted and the prices vary enormously. I have found some excellent books but occasionally issues arise. One technical book I bought had figures which were difficult to see (too small) when I used the zoom feature all it did was to rescale and switch to horizontal view. It was still difficult to read and there was no further zoom. I suspect this was due to the book's formatting but there are some limits to the kindle.
All in all, despite limitations I am very happy with my purchase.
