The Abuse. The Rebellion. The Survival.

I now own the new kindle 3. I never thought I would be able to read from one, much preferring the feel of a book between my fingers, but now I have one I really feel there is room for this in the market place. I also feel that it being a new piece of technology too, has probably encouraged a lot more people to actually read a book, I know my hubby hasn't read for years but I caught him reading last night.. Miracle..

I am, it is actually quite easy on the eyes, I wrongly thought it would be like looking at a PC screen..

I doubted e-readers. But now I am a total convert to Kindle. Much prefer it to paper books.

Ha, my husband was not a big-time reader pre-Kindle either. He definitely reads more now. I was reluctant to get a Kindle for a good long time for the same reason you stated -- I just didn't think it would be the same as a print book. And it's no0t the same, it's way better.

I wish my Husband read more now that I have a Kindle. He even has my old K1 all to himself. (sigh)

Glad you are enjoying it. I have had a Kindle for over 2 years. My husband finally decided to try it. He never reads. He is doesn't read a lot but enjoys the Kindle when he does. He loves it for traveling and I'm so glad he is enjoying it.

I thought the exact same thing too and refused to buy one. I actually got mine as a christmas gift and I love it! I didn't know about the whole e-ink thing until I actually got mine and I was like wow, the screen looks just like paper.

I'm reading more now than I ever had since I purchased a kindle. For some reason, I can read faster on it.

I also was one who would not give up paper, leather, sagging bookshelves, musty odors, etc....until a friend showed me his K3. I am a definite convert.

I was just like you, loved the feeling of the book and didn't want to swap for money. Until my cousin came for a visit last month... I fell totally in love with her Kindle! Got mine last week and am now into my third book already. As somebody else here said - I feel I can read way much faster on my Kindle than I do a book. The standard font type and font size combined with, for me, the perfect line spacing is just wonderful! And I had to buy my boyfriend a Kindle as well. Better safe than sorry... He was too keen on mine! It will probably arrive today, yeyyhh...

I haven't met anyone who has a Kindle who doesn't love it, including friends who don't always embrace new technology.
