Something I need to reflect on all the time!
Ten Guidelines From God Effective Immediately, please be aware that there are changes YOU need to make in YOUR life. These changes need to be completed in order that I may fulfill My promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. Please, follow these 10 guidelines: 1. QUIT WORRYING: Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way? 2. PUT IT ON THE LIST: Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can't help you until you turn it over to Me. And although My to-do-list is long, I am after all ... God. I can take care of anything you put into My hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize. 3. TRUST ME: Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in Me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on My list. Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For My sake, put it on My list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask. 4. LEAVE IT ALONE: Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It's simple You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don't you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with Me and forget about them. Just let Me do my job. 5. TALK TO ME: I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control. But there's one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU! I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Me in on the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a conversation with Me. I want to be your dearest friend. 6. HAVE FAITH: I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you are. Have faith in Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me; you wouldn't want the view from My eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me. Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can trust be? 7. SHARE: You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with those who have none. 8. BE PATIENT: I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes Me a little longer than you expect to handle something on My to-do-list? Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush. 9. BE KIND: Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try to get along, for My sake. I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please, know I love each of your differences. 10. LOVE YOURSELF: As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by me for one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes My heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to me. Don't ever forget...... Touch someone with your love. Rather than focus upon the thorns of life, smell the roses and count your blessings

I found this listed by another KB'er in Bargain Books. It's free! We need to read a different Bible for 2010. Just a thought. I would love to read Max Lucado's Devotional Bible but I don't think it is on Kindle. This has been a special year reading the Bible together, real connection felt with the rest of you.

Thanks so much! I got it. I was thinking the same thing about What to read for next year? I have this one in DTB form: But it's not on Kindle ... YET!!!! It also has a companion book, a devotional: It's a chronological Bible and covers it in the order of the events happening. Maybe if we do a bit of clicking, they will Kindle-lize it.

You have snow, we have tornado's. So cool to have people that we've never met praying for us!

I have noticed a few regulars are not posting anywhere else, not just here. But I am sure there may be a few non posters around.
Lettie, I am thinking of you daily and along with some of the others you are in my constant prayers.
Did anyone else notice that there were 77 Israelites that went to Egypt and over 600,000 leave? No wonder God had to be so strict and stern with them with all the rules.
love and hugs to you all and God's blessings as well

One of my scriptures I say all the time was in today's OT reading - Don't muzzle the bull while it is threshing. I say that to hubby when I'm nibbling while I'm cooking!

How is everyone doing with their daily readings? You are all in my thoughts & prayers. Today's devotional from Charles Spurgeon's Mornings & Evenings was very appropriate for Holy Week: Morning, April 7
“O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame?” Psalm 4:2
AN instructive writer has made a mournful list of the honors which the blinded people of Israel awarded to their long expected King.
1. They gave Him a procession of honor, in which Roman legionaries, Jewish priests, men and women, took a part, He Himself bearing His cross. This is the triumph which the world awards to Him who comes to overthrow man’s direst foes. Derisive shouts are His only acclamations, and cruel taunts His only paeans of praise.
2. They presented Him with the wine of honor. Instead of a golden cup of generous wine, they offered Him the criminal’s stupefying death-draught, which He refused because He would preserve an uninjured taste wherewith to taste of death; and afterwards when He cried, “I thirst,” they gave Him vinegar mixed with gall, thrust to His mouth upon a sponge. Oh! wretched, detestable inhospitality to the King’s Son.
3. He was provided with a guard of honor, who showed their esteem of Him by gambling over His garments, which they had seized as their booty. Such was the body-guard of the adored of heaven; a quaternion of brutal gamblers.
4. A throne of honor was found for Him upon the bloody tree; no easier place of rest would rebel men yield to their liege Lord. The cross was, in fact, the full expression of the world’s feeling towards Him. “There,” they seemed to say, “Thou Son of God, this is the manner in which God Himself should be treated, could we reach Him.”
5. The title of honor was nominally “King of the Jews,” but that the blinded nation distinctly repudiated, and really called Him “King of thieves,” by preferring Barabbas, and by placing Jesus in the place of highest shame between two thieves. His glory was thus in all things turned into shame by the sons of men, but it shall yet gladden the eyes of saints and angels, world without end.
This is such an important week. We must never lose sight what our Lord & Savior did for us. On a personal note, it was on Good Friday when I was in church when I was 15 that God touched my heart and opened my eyes to the Scriptures. My life has never been the same since!

HE DID Can you feel the nails in your hands? He did, I wonder if all people understand. Can you feel the crown of thorns on your head? He did, how many people have opened a Bible and this read.
Can you taste the sour wine on your lip? He did and not one drop of water did he sip. Can you feel the pain where you were pierced in your side? He did, non relenting and severe no matter what he tried.
Do you ever imagine how much blood was shed? Or the way that He hung from the cross once he was dead? He paid the ultimate price for you and for me That day He was crucified at Calvary. How many sheep are lost and do not see? That love, mercy, grace and forgiveness are gifts that are free. Open your heart's and take a look and make the time to read His book. Please don't let all of His sacrifice and suffering be in vain. Just say, "Yes" when you think of His pain.
