A publisher has sent me a review copy of a book as  PDF. it's 9.9MB! Is this safe to send to my Kindle? Anyone know? Thanks.

Go your Kindle's homescreen and press 'menu'. Look at the top left of the screen and it will show you how much space you have free. Unless you have thousands of books / lots of audio files, you're likely to have as much as a couple of Gb free, so I'm sure the size of the .pdf won't cause you any problems.

There wont' be any harm in transferring the file to your Kindle. 

The only issue may be with formatting because PDF files are formatted to fit into a 8.5" x 11" page.  The Kindle may not render tables, charts, columns, etc. in a very readable format.  You might have to read it on a PC and/or get a different format for your Kindle.

I had a 9+MB PDF user guide for a Panasonic camera which caused my Kindle to hang - had to do a hard reboot on the Kindle to get it going again. Nothing wrong with the PDF as it works fine on a computer.

My Canon 40d PDF user guide works just fine on the Kindle.
