I'm just interested to see how many fellow children's writers  are here. Or indeed, adults who enjoy children's fiction. I mean, I never tire of reading 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and never will.

Anyway, if you're a kindred spirit, say hello... Smiley

I love reading children's lit - Roald Dahl is one of my favorites. As you can see in my sig, most of what I've written is for the adult crowd, but I do have some mid-grade historical fiction coming out within the month.

I've written one easy reader chapter book for my kids at school, but it's not published.  I've been working on a middle grade chapter book for awhile now, and I hope to make good progress on it once summer vacation comes in June.  Also, while not children's lit, I'm currently writing a writing curriculum for my school to use in first and second grades next year.

I write children's books and have worked in children's publishing most of my career.

However, those little kids with their sticky fingers don't have kindles yet so I'm writing adult fiction now.

Hello!
There's a fair number of us on the boards. I think some of the kidlit authors have a thread with a facebook page somewhere.

Me! Me! I write for kids! And I love reading YA and MG books, too.

I'm one of those authors who participate in the Kidz Like 2 eRead pages -- we have a Goodreads page (feel free to hop over and add your book info, say hi, etc.) and a facebook page. Here's a link:

Thank you for posting the link!  Your books look really good!  Summoning looks very cool and is going on my To Buy list.  Smiley   My current children's book won't fit the criteria from the link as it is meant to be read to a small child.  But when I publish the next one (hopefully June or July) I'll pop on over.

My children's book is Joyce of Westerfloyce.  She has a cousin, but I haven't finished his book yet.

I took a children's literature class in college and I remember thinking that Johnny Tremain was very well written.

The "kids like 2 e-read" group is for "indie authors who have written books for kids 7-11 years old".  Does anyone know of a group for authors of books for younger readers and/ or pre-readers?

I write upper middle grade but haven't published any of it yet. I've also tried my hand at books for younger and older kids but I think my voice works best for middle grade.

The Wonder Tales, my series of all ages fairy tales where written for my children. Not really a children's writer, but the stories are having some resonance and becoming quite popular compared to my more adult work.

Hello Kindred,

I also enjoy much reading Tim Burton Chocolat Factory. My prince, now deceased, said to find another who also enjoys much reading his most cherished book, and to select one deserving of his $39,000,000 inheritance. You have shown youself to be worthy, now I must have bank account # to deposit the inheritance before the government takes it.

Lol kidding - I have a couple if children's books on the Kindle market; The Little Peach King, and CURSED. I don't sell much of TLPK because it doesn't show up in the market due to a SNAFU but Cursed does quite nicely so I assume that there must be plenty of adults who enjoy reading short children stories Smiley

I have one teen book out now: The Girl Who Ran With Horses

I just handed the first draft of my upcoming tween novel to my 9-year-old daughter. I hope she likes it as much as the early book. Smiley
