At long last, we're for sale - all proceeds going to support animal shelters local to contributing authors:

Amazon:  http://www.amazon.com/Pink-Snowbunnies-Hell-Flash-Fiction-ebook/dp/B005KF68X8/?tag=kindleboards-20
Smashwords:  http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/85516
B&N:  http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/books/1105282471?ean=2940013091849

---------------------------------

Sometimes a thing snowballs, and you just gotta roll with it  Cheesy.

In honor of ditching my day job, and not letting my one great line and Glendon's greater graphic languish in obscurity in a KB grammar thread, I'm going to sponsor a Pink Snowbunnies in Hell Flash-Fiction Anthology.

I'll pay for Glendon to turn the bunny in my avatar into a cover, and for editing, and take care of getting it assembled, formatted, and published.  All proceeds donated to a charity of the contributing authors' choosing (I'm thinking it will go up as a $0.99 anthology, so it's definitely not about the money).

Submission Guidelines:

1) Flash Fiction - 100-1000 words
2) Must contain some variation of the suddenly famous "pink snowbunnies will ski in hell" phrase
3) Given the cover, humor would be great, and PG13 unless there's a dang good reason for crossing that line
4) Entries will be judged by a panel of at least three judges (for the good of KB community relations, I think I'll be keeping them anonymous)
5) Entry deadline, June 15
6) Email submissions in Word .doc format to deborageary@gmail.com (I will hire an editor, but please have someone proofread before you send)

I'm hoping this sounds like fun, and not too much work.  To get a sense of whether this is going to fly, can you reply below if you think you might be interested in submitting?

And clearly I've never done this before, so all commentary welcome.

Okay, we have a reader, folks - any writers?  Help the bunny see the light of day (or a book cover, at least)...  Grin

I'm trying to figure out how to get witches (my series characters) and pink snowbunnies together in one story Smiley.  (Note - pink snowbunny characters not required, just the line).

LOL - that's what I said.  Glendon made me a cover - how can I not come up with a book?   Grin

Considering I wrote an entire book in which the reader plays the part of a pink bunny, I'm ALL OVER THIS.  Grin

I just edited the original post with my email addy, I'll take submissions that way.

Matt's story might actually feature a pink bunny - cool  Grin.  I don't have that active an imagination.  Mine will just feature the line.

Feel free to share this with non-KB writers that might be interested.  With flash-fiction length, we'll be able to include a lot of people, I hope!

Can hardly wait to see how this turns out!  I think Glendon was already asleep by the time this decision was made.  I'm gonna call him and tell him now.  Hehehehe.  He had no clue.  Pink snowbunnies! The underworld! Yeah!

I'd love to get in on this.

Questions:
Is the word count max set in stone?
Can the 'pink snowbunnies" be FROM hell?

I'd like to try to stick to the word count max, but nothing is set in stone.  If you can think up a story with hell-inhabiting pink snowbunnies, go nuts  Cheesy.

Also, just for the record, am I the only one here who's never heard the phrase "pink snowbunnies will ski in hell" before? Is it a regional thing, or perhaps some pop culture reference I'm not aware of?

I think it's a D. Geary original, a riff off of the old "hell will freeze over" line.

This looks like a blast. Pink snowbunnies are running around in my mind ... which can be its own version of hell, I suppose.

I'll try to submit something.

Ok. I have a story about a dyslexic genie that I can work around this image, but it's at 600 words now and only half-complete.

As a sidebar, Deb, how about a witchy anthology for October? PM me if that is something you'd be interested in working on together. I think there's a few other witches around these parts that might like to participate.  Grin

I think it's a sad commentary on the inner workings of my mind.  Now available in full color, thanks to Glendon  Grin.

It's what happens on 1.5 hours sleep (thanks, little guy), and convoluted lines about snowballs in hell, pink elephants, and I don't know exactly how the bunnies got in there.

Yay, our first story submission!  (Careful with quickies and bunnies, you'll end up with a novel that way).

If I get the chance, I'll definitely contribute.... and buy a copy.

(Given the theme, might I suggest an animal charity of some sort?)

Ah yes, the plight of the pink snowbunnies. (JK) Seriously, though, I second this.
