Product Description
This literary thriller revolves around Parker Sloane. When he returns from a dismal foray into third-world cash-smuggling to his childhood home in the woods of New England, it seems he’s seeing his country and his blended stepfamily for the first time—and finding both just as twitchy, desperate, paranoid and unpredictable as the underworld types he thought he’d escaped.

Before he can even unpack, Parker goes head-to-head with his relatives—his tyrannical stepfather, seething younger brother, newly evangelical mother, and his alluring younger half-sister Rita—and with the demons they never exorcised.

Delicately but disastrously, Parker attempts to keep his family from imploding, unaware that they have their own plans for escape. The Moon in Deep Winter combines the dark comedy of the Coen brothers with the doomed lyricism of Denis Johnson, creating an airtight world of homicidal family dysfunction.

Oh Juli - how heartbreaking!  Just know that she did go quickly and is where she should be.  I know that sounds trite but it is from my heart!  Remember she was an important part of your life and you will never ever forget her.  I think of my mother daily and am thankful for someone telling me that it was ok to do this.

You and your family will be in my prayers.

HUGS

Please pray for my friends' 7-month-old.  He is in the hospital with some kind of virus that is affecting his lungs.  I don't know any details beyond that, unfortunately.  The baby's name is Levi.

To all who have asked for prayers, please know that I am praying for you.  Dona, may your surgery go well and your recovery be a speedy one.  Juli, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  It is such a difficult thing to lose a loved one, and when that loss comes without any warning it is even harder to accept.  I hope that you and your other family members are able to console one another somewhat and take a bit of comfort in the fact that it seems as if your mother did not have to suffer.

His wife and grown children will need uplifting also.
This is a committed to God family.

Thank you to everyone who has included my friend's little grandson, Justin, in their prayers.  He has made it through his first round of chemo, and so far has been tolerating well. He has been able to stay at home for the most part, and go into the hospital to receive his medicine.  He has a long way to go, but I know that prayer is helping him and his family to make it through. I am continuing to pray for all who have requested prayers.  Juli, I was glad to see you back on the boards.  Please, know that you are still in my thoughts.

Thank you all for your prayers. An update on Rosetta's dad, Larry. He met with his doctors today and the prognosis isn't good at all. His cancer is terminal. Radiation may extend his life by a few months, but not by much. The cancer is in his colon, brain, and I think she said lungs as well.

Please keep them in your prayers.

I would love prayers on behalf of my 18 year old daughter. She is a freshman in college, and coming out of a relationship with a guy who became abusive and is now stalking her. We have police reports, and a protective order, but he has been evading service. I just pray that he is stopped and that she will not be harmed. Thank you so much.

Baby Levi is home now, but his family is basically having to live in two different houses to keep him away from his siblings and avoid spreading the infection.  (Second house is the kids' grandmother's.)

Have you or your daughter spoke to the college campus police and other officials to let them know of this situation?
I will definitely keep this situation in my prayers.

Heather, I'm so sorry for your friend's family.

I will be thinking of your friend's dad. My mother had kidney cancer that spread quickly to her brain and lungs. It was hard way to watch her die, but she was so strong through it all. My sisters and I were blessed to be able to be at her side for those last 5 months of her life. I will be praying for their family.

Margaret, I'm so glad Justin is doing well and I will keep him in my prayers.

Jennifermcb, that is an awful situation to watch your daughter go through.  I hope they stop him soon.

I will continue to pray for baby Levi and I'm so glad he is home.

My turn to ask for prayer. I have been sick. I have double pneumonia. It is the size of a man's fist and is primarily in the left lobe but some in the right lobe. It is tucked behind my heart. The pulmonologist said it is a very nasty strain of pneumonia and it will take five to six months for me to recuperate. I was in the hospital for a week and released today.

As a result, I probably won't be on KB much, especially in the first week or so. I am weak as a kitten.

My love to you all & you all are in my prayers. Suzi

Jennifer I am praying for your daughter's safety. My daughter was in a similar situation a few years ago and it is frightening.

Suzi feel better soon! Keeping you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Continuing to pray for your friend's Dad Heather.

Happy to hear Levi is better and out of hospital.

Dona, we miss you!! Get well soon.   Smiley

Continuing to please ask that you keep little Kate and her family in your prayers.

Hi, all, just reporting that baby Levi is home, but he is not improving as much as they had hoped.  He could still use your prayers for complete healing.

I really appreciate all the responses and prayers on our behalf. The hearing is tomorrow for a permanent protection order in favor of my daughter.

I am sending up lots of prayers for all the recent requests. I've seen the Lord do some mighty things in my life and I know he has miracles in store for each of you.
