Please pray for my sister's husband Tim again... he is the one who had the quadruple bypass last summer... he found out yesterday that the mass found on Friday during his colonoscopy is Cancer... He is being scheduled for surgery this week... although he wants a shot at going to the Cancer Institute before they start "wittling" on him...

I'm so sorry, Meredith. Please tell your sister to take a pad and pen to write down what the doctors say. I can't tell you how many times I came home, read through my notes and found something I had completely forgot about. The whole situation is just so overwhelming. Please keep us posted. deb

Thank you so much for the prayers, and know that you, my friend are still in my prayers too... thanks for the advice too... it is hard to believe but when I was 10 yrs. old I was the one taking notes from the doctor for HER... she had lung cancer... and I was a VERY scared, but responsible kid... she trusted me and brought me along to ask questions and take notes, because even though she is 14 years older I have always been her rock... who knows how that happened.... She could not gather information because she was really weak and VERY sick and always wanted me there... Now as for Tim, I talk to him on the phone for hours on end... he is so genuine, so down-to-earth and is such a sweet, sweet guy... I LOVE him like a brother, not just a brother inlaw. Thank you so much for your prayers. Meredith: Aarrrrhhhhhhh...ok; I'm better now. He will be in my prayers, even more so than before. I know, seems just WRONG! Cancer is such a vicious disease! He was perfectly calm about it on the phone... he told me he has been happy his entire life and he knows that his life has been so full of joy that if he left this world tomorrow he feels he got "more than his money's worth" This from a guy who lost his first wife to cancer after sitting by her bedside for a few years suffering with her... and from a guy who lost his 14 yr old son to a car accident.... He just has such a happy outlook... He has the most smiling eyes I have ever seen... Oh, Miss Merry, you know I'm going to pray hard for him. Be strong, my friend.
Thank you my friend I sure appreciate all you do Ms. Maureen. Love all you all do here on the KB... I have been missing ya'll over the past month or so... life was too hectic to spend any on the internet... Now I am back, and you are all still here like really good friends. Thank you again.

My Mom; who is also battling, just said, the other day (We were visiting cousin Bob; who we are also praying for): "It happens to those who God knows can take the burden of the added weight on their shoulders, I know I am a strong woman; I can handle it." I wanted to jump off one of Bob's chairs, wrap my arms around her and bawl my eyes out...Instead: I just replied, "Yeah, but somehow it just doesn't seem fair."

Oh, SJC, please don't feel bad, I know what you meant... the sad face was because he IS such an ANGEL... It hurts to see him go through so much. He has a kind word for everyone and would give the shirt off of his back. A real Sweetie. Don't feel bad OK? I wish I had noticed your commetn sooner. I went to bed a little earlier than usual last night. I will keep you updated. Thank you so much for your prayers. Meredith, Tim and your sister will be in my prayers.
I want to thank everyone who has been praying for my friend's grandson Justin and share some good news. After three rounds of chemo, he was reevaluated. His tumor has shrunk significantly and more importantlt it has shrunk AWAY from his liver. The doctors are very hopeful that one more round of chemo will make the tumor small enough so that it can be removed safely. If that happens there is a very high probabability of a cure. He has also been tolerating his treatments very well. Justin's parents say that they have received the strength to deal with all of this from the prayers they have received from so many different people.
Great news about Justin! Sorry I have been away for awhile. I do still pray for all my KB friends and their families for special healing and strength. First I agree with you Geoff, "we all need to be remembered to the Lord." http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mcraekateWhat do they say, out of the mouths of babes... read Holly's journal entry for Friday 04/09/10. I sobbed as I read it and got little sleep Friday night but then Saturday I had to smile. I bet "Jeez" got a good chuckle. We adults have so much baggage but the innocence of a child is amazing. Please keep Kate, Holly, Aaron, Liv and Will in your prayers. She is precious beyond words! Linda I still follow Kate's journal and pray for her nightly. I signed the guest book a few days ago and because I had been away from the web pretty much completely for a couple weeks I had not noticed that she is here in Houston until then so I let her know she had a few more friends here in town! Meredith, Tim and your sister will be in my prayers.
Thank you Linda.

Dona - I continue to pray for your complete recovery and return to full activity levels.
Kathy - so glad to hear about your sister Beverly's progress. Will continue to keep her in prayer. And for your own return to comfort and a full night's sleep.
SJC - I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. At times like this, the sooner he goes home to his Lord the better....for all. I will keep you in prayer for strength and remember his entire family for comforting. And God be with him.
Deb - will pray for your aunt Joanne that she have a complete remission and that her path to it be made as easy as possible. And special requests for your sister, Kim. That she may be comforted in this time of stress for her. And I will always include you to keep your courage up. You are such an encouragement to all who know you.
Anne - how is your brother-in-law? We keep you and your family in our prayers for continued healing and comfort.
And my prayers include all the rest of you too. We all need to be remembered to the Lord. I covet your prayers even when not in need. Thank you for being so sharing.
Thank You My Brother in Law is still doing Good

So many of the prayers are for those with cancer...
I pray for a CURE!! It's been years and years; we've come a long way...but a cure would be a long deserved miracle!! I do believe in miracles. Through the power of prayer anything is possible.

I agree. I think that almost everyone has been touched in some way by this disease, and prayer will help us find a cure for it. Please pray for the Finlay family. Their 3 month old son died today from Muscular Atrophy. Very sad. Rest in peace Jonathan 1/14/10-4/19/10.

I have been blessed to know many people who "beat" cancer. And I have held the hand of my brother-in-law as his heart gave out in hospice because of his lung cancer. I would be remiss if I did not say that it brings tears to my eyes to remember and to think of others in that same place. Be strong for your loved ones. Let them know of your constant love. And your belief in Our Redeemer.

I just wanted to update on my sister, Beverly. I was finally able to go see her last weekend. I had a 4 day visit with her, my children and grandchildren. Beverly is doing great. She was so happy to see me, she wanted help on the Kindle I sent to her. It seems to have helped her on her road to recovery. She is doing well, but has a long recovery. Her diabetes is all over the place, but hopefully she will get that in control soon. She is having a hard time not eating foods she shouldn't. The combination of being so overweight and years of eating all the wrong foods makes eating right seem overwhelming to her. I was so pleased with her progress and seeing her feeling better. I know all of the wonderful prayers here helped her.
Meredith, I'm praying for your brother in law. Cancer is such a horrible thing. I hope they found it before it had spread and I pray that all of his treatment goes well. A cure is what we need.
Never, I'll keep your friends in my prayers. So hard to loose a child.
Another update on me, I had the second nerve block in my neck today and it seems to be helping. I'll know more over the next few days. If this works, they will be able to do a permanent nerve block and I'm looking forward to being out of pain. Thanks to all for your prayers. I know that has helped me.

Kathy, I'm glad the course of treatment is helping.
I have a name I'd like to add to the prayer list. Aiden Stevens. He is about 3 months old. He and his brother and sister were born in January. Brother and sister did not have to spend a lot of time in the hospital, but Aiden has had many problems. He was transferred from WVU to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh shortly after his birth. They operated on his intestines and did some sort of operation on his heart. He came home Wednesday evening, but he's still not out of danger. He is on a heart transplant waiting list, and needs more surgery to his intestine. Aiden is the grandson of a police officer I work with. deb
