Product Description
Fishing’s Greatest Misadventures presents twenty-six true stories which cover the spectrum from terrifying to comical to downright bizarre. In these pages everyday fishermen, pros, and journalists tell their stories of freak accidents, fishy attacks, pranks, idiotic decisions, eerie or unexplained incidents, and other jaw dropping, adrenalin-pumping calamities. The stories bring to life the strange possibilities that await us once we cast our lines into known and unknown waters.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. I seem to be asking for them so often lately. I thank God for you all.

My prayers are with you, Martin, and your sweet wife and that precious gift from God.

Please be praying for my wife.

She has had a somewhat rough pregnancy (everything has always worked out, but it's been stressful emotionally).  The doctor encouraged us to schedule an induction for this Thursday.

Our baby is 39 weeks, and would be 40 next Monday, so she is fine.

Please just pray that my wife has an easy labor and delivery.

That's a little scary, I know.  I had an induction (went to the doctor on Tues., and she told me to go home and get my stuff and go to the hospital that night!), but it wasn't bad at all.  Not exactly what we'd planned, but we went home with our beautiful baby, so it all worked out Smiley

Same here, with my 7 year old they induced me....but nothing happened for almost 3 days.  They then told me I had to have C-Section.  I'm sure everything will be okay, and my son was/is perfect!!!

My husband and I have received the go ahead from the doctor to starting trying for another baby. We're happy but also scared to death. Please pray for us to receive another blessing!

Hi everyone,

I haven't ventured into this thread before -- hope you don't mind. I need some prayers for my dad. He's been confused for a few months now, but in the past few weeks, it has escalated to more anger and threatened violence, which is very scary for all of us, especially my mother. On Sunday, he tried to hurt himself but fortunately my son was there and able to intervene. He's in the hospital now so he is safe and being cared for but none of us know what lies ahead. I have to say, I never expected my father to develop what appears to be a fairly severe mental illness at the age of 84. Please send some healing prayers his way, he needs them now. He's at the Togus VA Hospital in Randolph, ME and his name is DeLancey.

Thanks,

Leslie

Leslie, You, your dad & your family are all in my prayers now.

Let's keep Martin (mwvickers) and his wife & wee Brianna in our prayers. They started the induction yesterday. Hopefully, it's all done & everyone is fine & Martin and his wife are catching up on some rest.

I'm so glad that you came here and let us know about your dad.  He will be in my prayers.... and you will also, of course!  It's so hard to watch someone you love go through difficult times.... it has to be hard on your mom and all of you.  Please know that we care about you and your family very much..... and please keep us posted on how he's doing.     Judy

Oh Sailor - what a frightening time for you, especially that the perp knows your name!

Thankfully your dog let you know what was happening.

Do you know any police officers or other law enforcement types who could offer you advice about what to do next for your safety? (My sister retired recently after 29 years on Anaheim PD and is a treasure trove of helpful info).

For the care of your soul, I encourage you to pray the Psalms, (perhaps numbers 27 and 31 for starters?). We're praying for you as you deal with the practical stuff and the spiritual stuff. Take care.

Sailor, I am so very sorry to hear that.  I agree with Cherie, talk to someone in security for some advice.  The fact that they knew your name is not good.  You did not recognize them?
I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Everyone, thanks for your kind words. All your prayers are appreciated. We need them. My poor father gets more confused every day.

Sailor, that is absolutely horrible. I have a terrible fear of home invasions. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I don't think I pray as hard as some of the folks on this thread, but I try.

Sailor,
I know you must be frightened. I would definitely speak to police or security regarding your safety. I would look into a alarm system. Even a basic one provides some peace of mind.

My aunt had her broke into right after my uncle passed away.  I don't think it was a coincidence.  She invested in a security system.  I'm not sure what the initial cost was, but I think it's about $15.00 a month.  She does not have a dog, and I pointed out that it would cost more than $15 to own a dog, and she does not have to scoop any poop out of her yard.
Anyway, something to think about.  You cannot put a price on your safety.

Just an update for everyone.

Brianna Michelle was born at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 4.  She weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz., and she is 19 inches long.

Chrissy was induced at 1:00 a.m.  At 8:45 a.m. (roughly), the doctor came in and broke her water and increased her pitocin drip.  At that point, her contractions started coming about every 2 minutes, and this continued until she delivered.  She did not have an epidural, and the only medication she took was two doses of "nu bane" (or something like that).  All that did was help her rest between contractions, and take the edge off a little (but not much).  She only pushed for about 15-20 minutes (if that long) before the baby was out.  May I just say that she is my hero!

Both Chrissy and Brianna are well.  We are back home now.  As soon as I get caught up on some sleep (I've been getting more at home than in the hospital), I will post some pictures.

Thanks for your prayers, all.

Congratulations, Martin!  It is so wonderful to witness the miracle of the birth of a child.

You & Chrissy need to try to rest when you can.  The little babies don't go as long between meals.  But it is better to be home all together than in the hospital.  I will be praying that Brianna will be a healthy & happy baby and that you will all adjust well to your new life.

Sailor, I will be praying for your safety and that you can rest in God and get some sleep also.

Leslie, I will be praying for your dad's healing and for your family as you seek the best options for his care.
