Thanks everyone. Was really feeling sorry for myself last night. It was rant or cry. Ranting seemed more productive. No red eyes and headache from ranting. Grin

Contining to pray for safe travels for Cherie (lesedi). I know she is missed by her congregation and pray the transition into retirement is a smooth one. We miss you!

Thanks everyone. Feeling better. I'm leaving on a business trip for a week today and I'm dreading it. Should be OK once I arrive, but dealing with suitcase and briefcase will be interesting. I have my manager traveling with me, so she will be a help. Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers.

Am praying through the various concerns.

Kathy - praying for healing and for travelling mercies for you. Take good care of yourself.

I am thankful to be home after two vacation trips (although can you call it "vacation" if you're retired?) with limited computer & cell phone access. And am thankful that the pastoral transition is going smoothly at the beloved church.

It's good to be back among y'all...

Cherie

Could you all add my family to your prayers. The company my hubby worked for is going out of business and he was laid off. He hasn't been able to find work here and now we are having to look out of the area. We are going to take a trip and see if he can find work in another state.

I'm having a very difficult time since my fall a month ago. Just found out today that I have 3 bulging discs in my neck, two small fractures in my clavicle and very strained muscles. Can't believe that a fall would cause me this much problems. They also did a MRI on my brain because I hit my head so hard and found a white matter that indicates small vessel disease or chronic ischemia. I now have to see a neurologist for that. I have been telling my ear, nose and throat Dr. that I have a problem with my right ear and the MRI shows that I have chronic right mastoiditis in that ear, which is fluid in the inner ear. This is so frustrating because I had bad ear infections as a child which caused me to have hearing loss at young age. I have suffered from tinnitus for over 10 years and have been told there is nothing wrong. Sorry to unload on everyone, but I'm so frustrated right now because the pain has been so unrelenting the last few weeks.
Now on the good side my Dr. gave me a new pain medication which seems to be working better than what I have been taking. I also realize that I'm so lucky that I can get good healthcare. There are so many people that have no access to good healthcare and would just have to suffer. I know that there are others here that are so seriously sick that it makes me ashamed to be feeling so down about this. I will keep everyone in my prayers and would appreciate your prayers.
Thanks so much for listening to me.
You are in my prayers. God Bless.

I am so glad we have this prayer thread.

Rasputina, your family will be in my prayers.  There are a couple of job info threads in the not quite kindle, you might see if they can be of assistance.

Kathy hope you are doing better.

deb any word on your test results yet?

Dona, just had more tests this morning.  I'm going to bug my doctor's office for the results starting this afternoon.  I'm feeling better, so I'm very hopeful it was all a fluke somehow.  (Denial works for me.)
I'm hoping to know something by tomorrow at the latest.
Thanks for asking.

Kathy, hope you're doing a bit better every day.
Rasputina, I'm so sorry to hear about another family in a crisis.  Please keep us posted.

Linda reminds me that during 2 other recessions when my husband lost his job 2 unbelievable opportunities came our way that never would have happened otherwise.  I'm praying you find the same.

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to feel positive about this. My intellectual self knows that it will be fine and I've been wanting to move for a long time, but my emotional self is having a temper tantrum because we were doing very well here until the recession. The only reason we stayed here so many many years was because he was so successful in his career.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It has been a hard week, working out of town but everyone is supportive. The neck brace seems to be helping and the shoulder is healing. I just found out I have to stay another week, but my best friend lives here in Dallas so going to go spend some time with her. We will have some good quiet time together and I'm looking forward to it.

Rasputina, I hope your husband finds work soon. I know how hard it is to be out of work. My husband was out of work for 8 months 2 years ago and we are still recovering. Please let us know what he does for a living and we can all start helping with the job search.

I am reaching out to my OYB friends and prayer warriors.

My daughter called about 30 minutes ago saying she needs to get her life straightened out and wanting to know if she could come live with Jay & I until she can get on her feet. As most of you know she has been gone since November 3rd. This is a complicated situation so I ask that all of you please lift us in prayer. She is a grown woman with childrenof her own, not a child. I am so nervous that I feel very nauseated. I am afraid to get too hopeful because the last time she asked to come home she changed her mind. I continue to pray that God's will be done although there are so many selfish things I want to ask for. This has been such a difficult and painful time in our lifes and I pray it is coming to an end.
