Reading through and catching up. Thank you all for your prayers for my friend Karen. She has been able to go home and should make a full recovery from the pnemonia. She's still weak and the doctor has said total bed rest for several weeks. I think she will go crazy once she starts feeling better. I've told her husband that she needs a Kindle to keep occuppied while recuperating...

Also praying for all. I have been off Kindleboards for a bit. I spent a week in the hospital at the beginning of the month. I had acute pancreatitis secondary to gallbladder disease. I go and have the stone removed from the bile duct a week from this Monday and the will have my gallbladder out a couple weeks after that. Hopefully that can be done laparascopically.
Lynn L
Keeping you in my prayers Lynn. Marti - I will be praying for your friend. Jim - Praying for complete healing for you MIL Andra - Thanks for the update on Karen

Hello KB friends. Sorry I haven't checked in sooner. There's really nothing new to report. I went to the surgeon on Tuesday. He viewed my films, did an exam and sent me to a special radiologist who does nothing but review mammograms. She will make a decision on whether I need a digital mammogram, or a biopsy, or nothing at all. My surgeon said there's a 1/3 chance no biopsy at all. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. deb

Thanks for the update, Deb! I will continue to pray for you.
OK, I have debated whether to put this out there for prayer or not because it feels a bit on the selfish side, but here goes...
I have been selected to sing the only solo in our Christmas program at church. I am by no means a solo performer. I am much more comfortable singing in groups (choir, praise team, etc), but when I first heard this song, I really wanted to sing it. Our director at first wasn't sure I could do it, but has asked me to sing it. My prayer request is that the Lord will calm my nerves so that the message of the song is conveyed and that I don't let this go to my head... that I remember who it is I am singing about and why... it is not about me or praise for me but for Him. AND, that with the crazy weather, allergies and flu going around that I stay healthy so that I can sing this song. Our program will be on Sunday, December 13. Thanks!

Thank you! The song is called "Faith Will Take You Farther." It is a new song written for this musical entitled "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year." Here are the lyrics: Faith Will Take You Farther Sometimes faith will bring you to trust a promise that’s illogical. Sometimes faith will lead you to cling to hopes that seem impossible. So often faith looks foolish, a leap into the dark, but that’s not how it is for the believing heart. ‘Cause when all your dreams have fallen through and your plans come crashing in on you. Don’t lose hope, no matter how it seems. ‘Cause faith will hold you closer. Faith will keep you safer. Faith will take you farther than you dream. Doubt will always whisper there’s no one there to catch you when you fall. Fear will come to rob you of any chance to see a miracle. So trust the One who loves you, whose Word won’t let you down, ‘Cause resting in His grace is where your strength is found. And when all your dreams have fallen through and your plans come crashing in on you. Don’t lose hope, no matter how it seems. ‘Cause faith will hold you closer. Faith will keep you safer. Faith will take you farther than you dream.

Deb, I'm glad to hear that things are progressing positively. It sounds like you have a good support staff of doctors and that's good. Angela, adding your request to my list.
I have a request too. It's not as major as some of yours, but it's still important to me, so I figured I'd ask. My kitty Tuxedo lost his fight with the cancer the beginning of September. It was terrible, but I was able to get through it. We knew it was coming and I had a chance to spend a wonderful last day with him and I got to say goodbye. So the happy memories are now starting to edge out the bad ones. But DH got home from work yesterday to discover that my Minikin was dead - probably from an aneurysm. We had no warning at all. So I have lost two of my kiddos in two months and now I'm falling apart. Please pray for me - I don't even know specifically what to ask. Thank you.

oh Andra - what a heart breaker! Angela has given us a wonderful prayer for you. Our furbabies give us unconditional love and we try to give it back and when they are gone there is a horribly big hole. Nothing can replace either one, but there is another one or two out there needing you.

I just got home from church and received some very distressing news. A friend of mine's wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, in both breasts, she had a double masectomy, problems with reconstructive surgery had to have it again, and was bad shape. She was MISDIAGNOSED! NO CANCER at all. This is bad enough, but Mary's husband, my friend who is an Episcopal priest, retired, has colon cancer and not just a small part, but throughout his colon. I am totally depressed and upset about all of this, hopefully asking your help will take some of this load off of my heart.
My request is that you please offer prayers for Mary and Winston for peace and acceptance for whatever God's decision is.

Deb I will keep praying and keep my fingers and toes crossed.
Angela - I know you will do well but will ask the Lord to give you assurance and comfort.
Andra - I pray that the Lord God will diminish your pain and perhaps bring a new life into yours.
Dona - My heart goes out to you and your friends. I pray that you bring to them the knowledge of a loving God and His servants praying for them. Unnecessary surgery is indeed unfortunate and a complete colon removal (or even radiology) is tough. We will be in prayer for healing and God's will.

Andra, I'm really sorry about your loss of two furbabies. Bad enough when it's one.
I can barely comprehend this, Anju about the misdiagnoses of breast cancer of your friend. Was it only the second time that they were wrong? My prayers for peace of mind.
My friend Kathy (mentioned earlier in the thread) had her breast cancer surgery on Thursday. She only stayed in the hospital for one night. She sounded so much better when she called me on Friday after being so depressed about anticipation of the surgery. I visited with her at her home yesterday. She has a wonderful friend from Boston staying with her for a few days. Thanks for your prayers. I hope that she can continue to do as well as she has since Thursday.

Mary and Winston...God be with you...thy will be done. I can't imagine your pain but I can pray for your comfort. You are blessed with a wonderful friend in Anju.
Andra: I can't express how truly sorry I am for you; having had a similar situation. You also are in my prayers.
Deb: You have been in my prayers for a bit now...I know your every fear first hand...God be with you.
Angela: You are a breath of fresh air in a less than perfect world. You bring a lot to this thread and these boards...God bless you and yours.
DECEMBER 13th...I believe there will be the clear voice of an angel singing a solo...and no request is ever foolish or selfish; little prayers matter too.

Dona I am so sorry to hear about your friends. I have been praying for Mary and Winston and for you too. Thank you everyone for your prayers and words of encouragement. I wasn't as nervous at rehearsal yesterday as I have been. I am still a bit concerned about staying healthy between now and December 13. I added a Vitamin C regimen today in hopes of boosting my immune system. Angela: You are a breath of fresh air in a less than perfect world. You bring a lot to this thread and these boards...God bless you and yours.

Thank you sjc... Your words were a great encouragement for me this evening. Have I mentioned lately that I love you guys!!!

As I was logging off to go to bed this evening I saw a post on Facebook from the husband of Larry's cousin that she was still in ICU. I was kinda shocked since the last I heard from her on Monday evening was she was headed to bed hoping to get a good night's sleep. Stephanie is/was pregnant with her first child. She is the only daughter/child of Larry's cousin Don & Darlene Wayt. From what I could gather on FB, Stephanie was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning with her blood pressure at a life threatening level that could not be controlled. They had to do an emergency c-section on her and she has been in ICU ever since and still on breathing machine. Miranda LeAnn Frazier weighed 1lb, 4 oz at birth and is 12 inches long. Tonight's report is that she is breathing mostly on her own and she kicks her legs when her dad, Bill, talks to her. Miranda's hand is smaller than the tip of her dad's finger! This pic was taken on Wednesday afternoon at about 24 hours old. Sorry it is so small, but I pulled the image from FB. Please lift up this sweet child and her family, as well as the doctors and nurses attending to her and her mom. Thank you. Angela PS - Miranda wasn't due to meet the world until early February!
