Product Description
This literary thriller revolves around Parker Sloane. When he returns from a dismal foray into third-world cash-smuggling to his childhood home in the woods of New England, it seems he’s seeing his country and his blended stepfamily for the first time—and finding both just as twitchy, desperate, paranoid and unpredictable as the underworld types he thought he’d escaped.

Before he can even unpack, Parker goes head-to-head with his relatives—his tyrannical stepfather, seething younger brother, newly evangelical mother, and his alluring younger half-sister Rita—and with the demons they never exorcised.

Delicately but disastrously, Parker attempts to keep his family from imploding, unaware that they have their own plans for escape. The Moon in Deep Winter combines the dark comedy of the Coen brothers with the doomed lyricism of Denis Johnson, creating an airtight world of homicidal family dysfunction.

Angela - how did your church solo go?  Also with all the company and stuff going on, is your back doing ok?  How about your Dad's eyes?

Dona, I will definitely keep you in my prayers.

My update: Went to the oncologist Tuesday.  I have to go to Pittsburgh for an MRI.  I was very pleased with the doctor.  He had a wonderful bedside manner.  He made sure we completely understood what was going on.  He discussed the drug
that I would be on after the radiation.  During that discussion we discussed my past blood results.  Turns out he's some kind of expert in blood as well.  So now he's going to start following me to see if we can figure out what's being going on there.  How great is that?
I go back to see the oncologist in a month.  I am waiting for my appointment to see the oncologist radiologist.
Thank you for all of your prayers.

My friend Marily has lost her pup Rosie.  Please send some happy thoughts her way.

Dona, I hope you are doing better.

Deb, I am glad that you are pleased with the doctor.  My mom had four of five of them and one was a real jerk.  He didn't last long.  We had to find someone that she liked.  Hang in there.

Deb, hang in there!  It's great that you like your doctor.  I generally hate doctors Smiley

Tomorrow will be my first day at the new job.  Praise God!

It will be on a temporary basis at first.  Please pray that this job turns into a more permanent kind.

Dona, the program was great and my solo went well. I was even asked to sing it again last weekend. Thanks for asking and thanks for the prayers. I have been told that I am expected to sing more often now that everyone knows I can sing!! Smiley

Deb, glad to hear that you like your doctors, that is a BIG thing! Still praying for you!

Thank you, Angela.

An encore, wow, how exciting for you.  Someone should have taped it and put it on YouTube for us.  That's what my son does for his kids' ballgames, school programs and such that I can't make it to.

My hubby wants me to re-record a song he wrote for his grandmother that I sang for her funeral 8 years ago. When we get this done, I will consider sending it to you to hear. lol

I had my x-ray done today, and read the report, in Spanish of course, but it appears I am not a hypochondriac  Roll Eyes but there is nothing really serious.  I couldn't understand all of it, but enough to know this.  Now to figure out what is wrong, I don't see the doctor until Thursday afternoon, and this "rest" is driving me crazy, I really really need to get out and walk and so do my furbabies  Cool

Prayers appear to be working, thanks  Smiley

Hi all.  I don't post often, but I do read these posts and keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers.  Now I have need for a little heavenly help myself:

My father's cancer is rearing it's ugly head again, please pray for him (his name is Rolland).  He is a grump, but I love him dearly!  =D

Thank you.

Osnova - happy to hear of the job (give us an update when you have time).
Angela - we would ALL like to hear you sing (hmmm - have to find a way) (I understand not wanting to put it public in utube).
Dona - Good news about the xray. It is always better to have facts than fears.
Deb - nice to have good doctors. My PCP is a wonderful woman that I have had for over 15 years. No problems thank God but always nice to have a physician you know and can trust.
Songbird - prayers for both you and your father. Grumps are good people, too.

Just sayin.....

I'm afraid I'm back to ask for more prayer.
My new blood tests came back and there are some problems.  Not sure exactly what, but my numbers are not good.
The good thing is, like I have mentioned before, that my oncologist is an expert in blood disorders.  So hopefully we
can finally get to the bottom of this situation.

continuing to pray for everyone

I think I am going to use my Oberon journal to help me keep better track of the prayer requests.  I seem to remember things better if I write them down.
