Product Description
This literary thriller revolves around Parker Sloane. When he returns from a dismal foray into third-world cash-smuggling to his childhood home in the woods of New England, it seems he’s seeing his country and his blended stepfamily for the first time—and finding both just as twitchy, desperate, paranoid and unpredictable as the underworld types he thought he’d escaped.

Before he can even unpack, Parker goes head-to-head with his relatives—his tyrannical stepfather, seething younger brother, newly evangelical mother, and his alluring younger half-sister Rita—and with the demons they never exorcised.

Delicately but disastrously, Parker attempts to keep his family from imploding, unaware that they have their own plans for escape. The Moon in Deep Winter combines the dark comedy of the Coen brothers with the doomed lyricism of Denis Johnson, creating an airtight world of homicidal family dysfunction.

I'm afraid I'm back to ask for more prayer.
My new blood tests came back and there are some problems.  Not sure exactly what, but my numbers are not good.
The good thing is, like I have mentioned before, that my oncologist is an expert in blood disorders.  So hopefully we
can finally get to the bottom of this situation.

deb
Deb, you are still in my prayers! Be strong, be positive, and BELIEVE in the power of PRAYER!

I do not post on this thread as much as I used to... not really posting anywhere as much as I used to, but I do still think of you all and pray for all of my KB friends...

Deb - you are in my prayers.

Nathan - we will add Jeff and his family to our prayer list.  And you too, that you provide encouragement to them.

Friends- Please pray for the Wittung family. Jeff, an editor at Baker Publishing Group, passed away this evening at 6:20 p.m. after injuries received in an auto accident last week. He leaves behind a wife and two small children.

Update:  Visit to oncologist/radiologist went well.  It took 2 hours.  They were very thorough.
MRI was fine, but I didn't know I was going to have an IV.  Not a problem, just didn't know.
Now just waiting for the results of the MRI.  Hoping for an "all clear, nothing new found" report.
Thank you, everyone, for remembering myself and my family.  Especially my family, as they have
been more worried than I have.

Deb, breathing a sigh of relief that your trip is over.  I hope the outcome of the MRI is "no evidence of disease" and that you are relaxing with a new cup of tea!

Anju, thanks for asking.  Dad and his oncologist have adopted a "wait and see" attitude for right now.  Dad says he'll start chemo in April if the cancer gets worse.  He doesn't want to start until then anyway because he doesn't want to drive on the nasty winter roads.  Dad also said that worst case scenario, they can't rid him of the cancer, it's a slow growing cancer and he would still have years.  I don't know if that's true or if he's just trying to make me feel better.  He's got another appointment in a couple of weeks, I'll have more information after that.  I'm just trying to not freak out...

Osnova - happy to hear of the job (give us an update when you have time).

With all your prayers, I got a job with a lot of work Smiley  The downside is that they've sent me away from my family but I am not complaining.  Thank you everybody so much.  Because of work load I will not visit often.

Thinking and praying for all of you here on KB.

I have 2 requests- one is to thank God for my recovery from my bout with pancreatitis and gallbladder issues at the end of last year, I had my last procedure to finish up just after Christmas and am feeling great- better than I have in months.

The 2nd is unfortunately for myself also. I just had my yearly screening mammogram, it was abnormal-but I have a history of cysts so I wasn't real concerned. Had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound yesterday and it is not a cyst but solid tissue and am now waiting for my Dr to set up an appointment for a biopsy. I know the odds are in my favor for everything being fine, but would appreciate your prayers.

Lynn, I will absolutely keep you in my prayers.  Try not to worry too much.  I know that's easier said than done, but it's better not to waste your energy until you know for sure what you are dealing with.

Osnovo, sorry to hear you won't be able to spend as much time with us, but such a wonderful reason why.

Songbird, sending prayers and good thoughts your way during this "waiting" time.

osnova, check in when you can so we know how you are doing.

deb, continuing to pray for you and your family.

songbird, freaking out takes way too much energy.  Focus on the positives and the things that you can do something about.  Sending prayers and warm thoughts your way.

Lynn, I'm thankful for you recovery from earlier health problems and praying for good news from you biopsy.

Texas is sending some of our Game Wardens to Haiti to assist.  Please pray for them as well as the people of Haiti.

Lynn you are in my prayers as are all the people of Haiti.

I would like to request prayers for my friend's 5 year old daughter Kate. She has a rare, aggressive brain tumor. Has completed 5 rounds of intense chemo with residual tumor left. The choices are tough. There is great risk with another surgery and great risk without. Please pray for Holly and Aaron and their daughter Kate.  The Mcrae family.

Thank you!
