Product Description
This literary thriller revolves around Parker Sloane. When he returns from a dismal foray into third-world cash-smuggling to his childhood home in the woods of New England, it seems he’s seeing his country and his blended stepfamily for the first time—and finding both just as twitchy, desperate, paranoid and unpredictable as the underworld types he thought he’d escaped.

Before he can even unpack, Parker goes head-to-head with his relatives—his tyrannical stepfather, seething younger brother, newly evangelical mother, and his alluring younger half-sister Rita—and with the demons they never exorcised.

Delicately but disastrously, Parker attempts to keep his family from imploding, unaware that they have their own plans for escape. The Moon in Deep Winter combines the dark comedy of the Coen brothers with the doomed lyricism of Denis Johnson, creating an airtight world of homicidal family dysfunction.

Thank you everyone for all of the prayers, but I need you again. My baby sister was hospitalized on Friday with severe stomach cramps. The did an ultrasound and found a large mass. My sister has multiple health issues and treating her is so hard. She is obese which has caused her to have diabetes, high blood pressure and she broke her ankle a few years ago that has never healed correctly. They are going to do surgery to remove the mass, hopefully it is a fibroid and nothing more serious. She is undergoing all kinds of test right now to make sure that she can even tolerate anesthesia. Please keep her in your prayers.

I am continuing to pray for all of your intentions.  Little Justin is holding his own. He is having a test the week after next to see if the tumor has shrunk to a size that is operable.  Please keep him and his family in your prayers. Kathy, I have added your sister to my prayer list.  Angela, I am sorry for your loss.  I pray that your family will be sustained during this difficult time.   To all, have a happy and blessed Passover and Easter.

Kathy, your sister is in my prayers. What is her name?

Her name is Beverly and she is 57 years old.

Here is an update: They did a lot of test on my sister today and she has pneumonia which they are giving her antibiotics in her IV for. She also had a colonoscopy today and she has diverticulitis. That is what is causing part of her extreme stomach cramps, which is what sent her to the hospital in the first place. They are hoping to get her strong enough to have surgery on Friday. She has a large mass that is in and around her uterus. They are hoping they are only fibroids, but they are not sure. One of the biggest problem is that she is only 4'11" tall and weighs around 250 lbs, therefore she has diabetes and high blood pressure. She gained a lot of weight when she broke her ankle several years ago and she was unable to walk for months. It was a horrible break and she cannot walk on it for long. I'm just very worried that she won't survive the surgery with her health so bad.

Thanks so much for all of the prayers.

Kathy - you are really having a tough go of it.  Hang in there and remember Healing Arms are around you and your family.

I hate to ask for continual prayers, but I am nervous and anxious about moving even my little finger!  Will spend most of the time in bed, with kindle of course, but will get up occasionally.

love and hugs and prayers to everyone.

Have a wonderful and Blessed Easter !

Dona, I'm so sorry you're going through a tough time.
I've been telling my BFF about you.  She's had 3 hip
replacements, so she really understand what you're
going through.
Hope you have something really great to read.

Some Good News. It looks like my Brother in Law is going to be Okay. They just took out all the drains and he was able to eat a little bit.He will be in intensive care one more day. The bleeding was not from the surgery. It was from the Sternum. They break the Sternum so they can do the surgery and the bleeding was from there.

Update on my sister Beverly. She had her surgery today and they removed a fibroid that was larger than her uterus. It is benign, but was connecting to her blood stream. It was a hard to remove, but everything went well. She also had to have a complete hysterectomy. I'm just so relieved that she was able to make it through the surgery. They have her sedated and she will be in the hospital for at least another week. Thank you all for your prayers. I know that they helped her through this.

He is Risen!

Sorry I just had to declare my faith.
Please be comforted by His Will.
Prayers go out to all for healing of body and spirit.
Know that He loves you.
Because he does how can the rest of us do less.
You ARE loved.

Just sayin.......
