Good morning, I can't put into words how much your love, prayers and support mean to me!! It is ironic how people we have never met can be such wonderful friends and the love I have for all of you. We have become such a close knit group and it seems only yesterday the group was started. I think that meltdown and cry was just what I needed because I have had such peace yesterday and today. I know God will never leave me or forsake me!
I wonder where Suzanne is, I miss her!!
Please pray for my 84 year old Mom. She fell yesterday in the grocery store. Thanking and praising God that she only broke a finger and not her hip. She is very sore this morning.
Robert I am praying for your church and praying for all of my friends here!
My sister sent me this yesterday and I want to share with all of you:
Perhaps this has been a difficult year for you. The future stretching out before you may seem gloomy or threatening... In your rare moments of quiet, you may wonder, Where is God?
He's right there at your side, my friend. He has never left. He has never removed His eye from you, nor has his attention wandered to other matters. Not even for a heartbeat. He has never ceased caring for you or thinking about you, considering your situation, and loving you with a passion and intensity beyond comprehension.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living Gos. Psalm 42:2

Linda, I am still here. I read the prayer request thread daily & keep you all in my prayers. I am still battling health problems. Since I had the pneumonia in February I have had severe dizziness & occasional bouts of vertigo. The dizziness is so bad I cannot drive & most of the time cannot leave the house. Tim has been having to do the grocery shopping because I simply cannot do it. By the time we get back to around where the dairy products are, I am so dizzy I dearly want to just sit on the floor. Which would make quite a scene I think! I have been treating with my pulmonologist who treated me at the hospital with the pneumonia. He has referred me to a neurologist and I am treating with him. He has had MRI's done and everything looks good. So he really doesn't know what is going on. Something occurred to me about a week ago. When I was in the hospital for 8 days with the pneumonia, of course they drew tons of blood daily. Well, they found out that my triglycerides in my cholesterol reading were high. So my family doctor put me on medication. About a week ago, I wondered if maybe that medication was having an effect. So I went off the medication. I have lived 60 years without this medication, so I think I'll be okay for a couple more weeks. Well, after a day off the medication, the dizziness has abated greatly. I will wait another week and then go back on the medication for the cholesterol. If the dizziness returns, I will make an appointment with my family doctor and discuss the situation with him. My heart goes out to you, Linda, for your situation. A good cry always helps me when I am under a lot of stress. Afterwards I feel quite drained but I also feel like the pressure has relieved a bit. You are doing such a good thing by your grands & the Lord sees this & He will carry you through it. Love you all, Suzi

Hi Suzi! It is so good to hear from you! I think of you often. Thank you for the kind words! I will be praying specifically for your health. I've had vertigo before and it is miserable. Take care of yourself!
Love you!

Linda...thank you for sharing that. I know God will never leave us or forsake us. Even though it has been a difficult year for me and many of you I do find comfort in knowing The Lord is always with me. (And reading all the posts from my KB friends.)
Suzi... I am so sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Hopefully you will feel much better soon. l'll keep you in my prayers.
Unfortunately, my knee has gotten worse over the last couple of weeks and today my therapist said she was going to stop my PT until I go back to the doctor on the 20th. Hopefully I can get some relief and answers then.
Prayers and thoughts for everyone.

SUZANNE:I am still battling health problems. I KNOW the feeling all too well. The vertigo is the WORST...and I have been on the market floor and made the scene. I had times where I do not know how I got home...and times where I had to call for a ride home. My Pneumonia had me hospitalized for 11 days. You are so weak and useless for months after. Lifting your arm is an effort. Vertigo: After doctor after doctor and test after test and boatloads of $$: (The worst test; flipping one upside down on a board during an episode) I diagnosed my most prominent cause myself: ONIONS (love 'em; can't have them). They give off a gas that goes to the brain; those who are sensitive have a severe reaction. HARD to diagnose because you can get the reaction a couple of days after eating the onions; so, when you are keeping a food journal, most don't relate the reaction to something they ate days ago. (My migraines used to be so bad: I've been bedridden for up to three days puking up a lung and so dizzy you can't move an eyeball an inch.) Allergic to Imitrex!! STRESS is a huge trigger: Migraines (common triggers): Chocolate, red wine, salami, hot dogs, msg, fake sugar, caffeine,...I'm sure there are more. Hope any of this helps; sorry if I bored you. BE WELL...Prayers and Hugs. sjc

Mom's angiogram was today and it came back good. They're moving her to a long-term care facility (in Vegas) in the next couple of days. Still has the trach and feeding tube. Those could be temporary or permanent. Just depends on how she does. Her nurse gave her an alphabet board today (kinda like a Ouija board and she spelled out "When can I talk?" which he said was very good. They'll teach her how to talk with the trach while she's at the care facility.
My brain is trying to process that this could be permanent. The thought of it is heartbreaking.

Heather, I'm glad to hear that your mom's angiogram came back good, and it sounds as if it's a good sign that she's wanting to talk. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers, and hope that your mother continues to make progress. Hang in there. You have what seems like the weight of the world on your shoulders. I hope the prayers offered up here by your KB friends will help ease that burden a bit. As I've said before, I've been in a somewhat similar situation with my mom, and there were times when I didn't know how I'd be able to take another breath. My girls were young at the time, and I know that balancing it all is really difficult. May God bless you!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your mom, and your family, Heather. It is hard to adjust to the changes in her life and to balance those changes with your daily lives. We are here to listen when you need that ear.

Heather, your Mom and family are still in my prayers. I am hoping thatthe rehab goes well for her and that she can be patient with herself. Linda, I have been praying for your little friend since I read about her on these boards. Hopefully her latest round of teats go well. I also pray for you. I know that you have done the right thing by stepping in and assuming the care of your grandchildren, but living that out on a daily basis has to take a toll on you. I pray that God gives you the strength and stamina when you need it. SJC, I pray that your Dad's surgery goes well and that life starts being a bit kinder to you. You sound like such a positive person. You are dealing with many personal setbacks, but you always take the time to uplift others. I consider getting to "know" you on these boards a gift. You are a real inspiration. Angela, hopefully your retreat will be a blessing for you. To everyone who has requested prayers - blessings and peace. Finally, thanks to all who prayed that my daughter Katie would get a job. She found out yesterday that she has been hired at the place where she had the interview about four weeks ago. She starts a week from Monday.

MARGARET:SJC, I pray that your Dad's surgery goes well and that life starts being a bit kinder to you. You sound like such a positive person. You are dealing with many personal setbacks, but you always take the time to uplift others. I consider getting to "know" you on these boards a gift. You are a real inspiration. First off: CONGRATULATIONS to your daughter; wish her well next Monday. Thank you for your kind words...You humble me. I think I'd have gone insane this past month (with all of the junk on my plate); if I didn't have all of you. This thread and you, my Kindle Boards friends, have no clue how much you have helped me. When it rains it pours. Dad's surgery is Wed. and my trip has been canceled; I just hope I get my money back. Even if I don't; it's worth every penny to be there on Wed with Dad. One more PRAYER request: My sister in law; who has already battled breast cancer and divorce during the heat of her chemo (he left her; they have 3 kids: Now he goes with a woman with 5 of her own). ANYHOW: She has been running a 102 fever on and off for two weeks with aches and pains. She has had all kinds of tests...nothing has come up yet. I SAY LYME...Tomorrow I am calling her again and saying GO GET TESTED FOR LYME. Please pray for her health...she's got to be strong for the three kids. STILL KEEPING ALL OF YOU IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. sjc

Margaret, I'm glad to hear that your daughter got the job. Please wish her the best from me too.
I'll also echo the sentiments about this group being such a rock. I think we all try to go out of our way to encourage and life each other up even when we are going through trying times - and in the process, I think we manage to lift ourselves up a bit.
sjc, adding your sister-in-law to my list.

DH is scheduled for a colonoscopy on Friday. He's only 42, but he has some pretty bad family history on his mom's side of the family. His grandfather died young because of colon cancer and both of his uncles have had pre-cancerous polyops (sp??) removed. So he's kind of wigging out and worrying about dying. I am trying to be strong for him, but he's starting to freak me out too... I'd feel a lot better if I knew that y'all were praying for us to be calm this week and for good results of the tests...

Andra I am praying for peace and comfort for you and your husband. You normally don't have a colonoscipy until 50 but with the strong family history of colon CA this is the best thing he can do for himself. I am a nurse and I believe in preventative medicine. Keep us posted!
