Would a Kindle owner be charged by Amazon when sending a page to the Kindle using this "Send to Kindle" button browser ad-on?

Thank-you Amazon for the Kindle, I am reading print again after being away from it for 15 years because of decreasing vision.  I never walk out my front door without my Kindle DXG and Fire, they have been both liberating and life changing for me.  Thanks again.  Sincerely, Gene

Not if it was delivered via the wifi connection, but if it was over 3g, I suspect the regular per-MB charge would apply.

I use the chrome "send to kindle", often to read articles and things offline.  I use wifi only and there is no charge.

I just learned about this browser add-on & with all the new folks coming to Kindle with the Fire & Touch releases, I thought it might be good to re-surrect this thread for a while.
I haven't used it yet, but am definitely going to try it out.

I thought that if you had a kindle with 3g that you could download via 3g for $0?  Hmm, perhaps this charge is only for sending documents to the kindle via 3G?

If you buy books from Amazon you can download them any time for free, whether via WiFi or 3G.

If you're sending your OWN stuff to your kindle and it's delivered via 3G, Amazon will charge you.  You can prevent that by sending it to the @free.kindle.com address OR by setting your document charge limit to zero.  That will cause it to go via WiFi even if you send it to the regular @kindle.com address.  It also means you will NOT be able to download personal documents while out and about and on the go because you've not authorized them to charge you to do so.

Though, I should say, that it is possible with the change in how personal documents are maintained, you might be able to download something you had previously sent and that they're storing in the cloud for you.  See the 'personal documents' section of MYK.  But I am not completely sure about that. Undecided
