How did it become Late June so fast?
I'm not that big on rules, but you need some to keep everyone in line. So here are the rules and how the game works:
When signing up: 1. Sign up runs from the 22th through the 28th 2. State your Usual genres 3. List any Deal-breakers (genres, cost, size, etc.) 4. If you want to use last month's information again, just let me know .... 5. Be filled with anticipation and a little dread
Picking a book: 1. You'll get your selectee's name and info on the 29th 2. Pick a book you love and adore, is outside your person's usual genres, not a Deal breaker, 3. and that is no more than - $9.99 ... 4. You get to think about it and stew until the game thread is created on the first day of the month … 5. Stress out over whether your selection is good enough 6. Add a second selection if you want – or don’t – it’s all good. 7. I'll create the game thread in the Book Klub on the 1st where you will post your selection(s).
Once you get your book: 1. Be surprised at the choice and maybe a little unsure 2. If you get two selections, let us know which one you’re choosing 2.5 Or choose both 3. Read your book (no cheating) 4. Come back to the thread often to tell us what you think. 5. And most of all, have fun ...
Other rules 1. You have veto power over your selection - if its just too far out for you, ask for a new one - no one will hate you 2. If you're late to sign up, no worries, we have back-up selector minions - just PM me ... 3. If life happens and your selector doesn't give you a book by the 5th, a new selector will be assigned for you 4. We're all grown folks here, so just act like one ....

I'm in this month, we leave on vacation July 4th and I should have plenty of time to read while lazing on the beaches of Oahu. Same info as before (I sat out the past couple of months, so you'll have to dig back a bit to find it Geoffrey, let me know if it's just easier for me to restate -- basically I want to read a short book).

I'm in. Same info as before, and you can strike the length clause.
Only caveat is that A Dance with Dragons is out July 12, and I will be dropping all other reading at that point.

I'll be in again.
I'm having difficulty with choosing books, but really enjoy this. I need to get a good list of what is available for kindle books together so that I can stop struggling so much with the fact that most of my favorite books aren't available as ebooks.

I'm leaving for Maui on July 5th (so that's two game players on Hawaii, albeit different islands), but I'm in again. Same as last month, but would like to add extreme length to the dealbreakers.

Sign me up!
Usual genres: contemporary and literary fiction; classic fiction (esp. 19th/20th c); some science fiction (the more literary kind, some harder stuff)
Deal breakers: overtly Christian stuff (religion as a part of the plot is fine--just not as the whole point of the book)
See my Goodreads (link in sig below) (although I've been remiss in keeping it updated) for stuff I've read.

Y'all, I meant to send this out this morning and I've been so busy ..... here is the list of selectors and selectees for July (now with less stress out time) | Selector | Selectee | Genres | Dealbreakers | | | Annalog | djgross | Mystery, suspense, romantic suspense | No Deal Breakers | | | Basilius | pawsplus | contemporary and literary fiction; classic fiction (esp. 19th/20th c); some science fiction (the more literary kind, some harder stuff) See my Goodreads | overtly Christian stuff (religion as a part of the plot is fine--just not as the whole point of the book) | | | djgross | fadedrainbows | Paranormal Romance, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Chick Lit My Goodreads | I am a college student, so less than 1000 pages would be lovely! And if it stays under the $10 limit, that would be amazing. | | | drenfrow | imallbs | Mystery/Detective; American and Western European History | No Deal Breakers | | | Emily King | songbirds sis | i am open to anything | no deal breakers but please nothing more expensive than $9.99. | | | fadedrainbows | MissStar | Paranormal Romance and Suspense (i.e. Dean Koontz) GoodReads Profile | I'm going with none this time | | | Geemont | Tripp | historical fiction; chick lit; family saga; drama; suspense; thrillers; religion is OK if it is presented culturally, not to convert. | Horror and any creature that is typically associated with horror (vampires, zombies, werewolves, etc.). | | | Geoffrey | Leslie | I'll be honest, I'm the most high-maintenance player in this game. I love being a picker (and I think I do pretty well in that department) but I have a harder time as a pickee. Ready to take me on? Okay, here's a few parameters
| No Deal Breakers | | | hsuthard | luvmy4brats | No Usual genre Here's my Goodreads Link so you can see what I've read: www.goodreads.com | Graphic Violence; Horror; Religion/politics | | | imallbs | Emily King | Urban Fantasy; Paranormal; Horror; Mystery here is my Goodreads | Non-Fiction; Religious / political with the intent of change; Harlequin-style romance.
