Ok Margaret , I have two choices for you this month one which I think is right up your street and the other which does not fit in with your regular type of books. As per normal I have no idea how to post the graphics plus being in uk I can never get to the USA amazon site so it's text only and hit and hope Choice one is World without end by Ken Follett And choice two is The girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig larsson I thoroughly enjoyed both but they are both quite long Enjoy Peter

Peter - I loved Pillars of the Earth, so I know that I would like World without End. On the other hand I know very little about The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, except that I have some friends who loved it and an equal number who did not finish it. I am going to add World without End to my wishlist and I will definitely read it some day. However, since the point of this game is to stretch our boundaries a little, my choice for the month is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Thank you for the suggestions!

Hi Kaotickitten! I have two choices for you. They're indie books from people right here at KB. Romance Novel is absolutely hilarious. It's a parody of Twilight for the most part and I was cracking up the entire time. This one is featured on my blog as the indie book of the month. I'm only about halfway through right now, but I'm really enjoying it. Knight is an excellent writer.

Yay, MissStar! The cock rings aren't that daunting, I promise And cards? You make cards? What kind? MissStar hasn't answered you yet... so I will! She makes AWESOME cards, check out her blog at www.youcouldbewishingonastar.blogspot.com to see some of them. I'm not at all biased just because I'm her mother, either.

djgross, it will probably be at least a couple days before I post selections for you. Life has been hectic lately, I only read the list yesterday, and I will be away from Internet access for the next couple days. I will have my Kindle and look for appropriate selections.

Hi Annalog, Here are my pics for you. They couldn't be more diverse... The first one is kind of expensive, but if I remember correctly, you sometimes get books from the library. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry This is on my list of top favorites. A western but so much more with a large "cast" of interesting characters. A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore This was a book that was chosen for me in this reading game and I really got a kick out of it. Christopher Moore is witty and I found myself laughing out loud while reading this. The Silence of Trees by Valya Dudycz Lupescu This author was a semifinalist in the 2008 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award with this book. Not a lot of action, but it is a story about one woman and how her experiences and feelings of guilt shaped her life. Hi Tripp, You are correct, I do sometimes get books from the library since DH is a librarian. While DH turned in his retirement paperwork the other day, he will still be involved at the library. If I pick Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry, then I will ask DH to check it out from the library for me as I will not pay $5 more for the Kindle version than for the available Mass Market Paperback. I downloaded samples of the books but might not get to look at them for a couple days as life is currently hectic. I do know that I will not be picking A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore as I have already read the book. It was funny and I did laugh out loud at times.

drenfrow, I saw you had a few books on religion in your Goodreads and I thought you might like this one. The author attempts to follow all of the commandments in the Bible as literally as possible for a year. It's $11.99, though. =/ This is about a girl trying to survive when she gets lost in the woods. It's by Stephen King, but it's not really horror--more like a psychological thriller, maybe. How to Disappear Completely by Myke Bartlett An audio book this time and it seems close to your usual reads, if a little off the beaten path. This one's free over at podiobooks, but they do accept donations. =)

Solace, I'm going to go with The Year of Living Biblically. I remember hearing an interview with the author on NPR when the book came out and it sounded intriguing. I may check out How To Disappear Completely later. I wasn't familiar with podiobooks.com so that is a nice find in itself. Thanks!

luvmy4brats, we read a LOT of the same styles. I know we've read quite a few books the same, so I had to think out of my box a little for you. Here's what I came up with. This first book isn't available for Kindle, if that's a problem just move on to the next pick. But this is a great, classic novel, and it's set right around my neck of the woods. It should be easy to find at the library. I didn't see this series listed on your Goodreads, and it is a bit of a departure from my usual style as well. But it's a fantastic read, nonetheless. It really transports you, a cheap summer vacation to Botswana! This last pick is one I just wanted to share with you. It's right up your alley, and currently one of my favorite series. It's also a quasi-YA novel, so it would be suitable for kids to read if they're interested. There's a bundle of the first three in the series for $16.99, I really love this series and think you would, too!

hsuthard - here we go! Something Missing: A Novel Someone already beat me to this this month. My nephew had me read it while on vaca last month and I thought it was great! An OCD burglar who cares about his "clients" - what could happen? A Thousand Splendid Suns: 1 Another already recommended book, but is so good I had to toss it out too. This was my assignment a few months ago and was a very gripping read. Not really a light beach read, but well worth the time spent. Hope one pulls you! The first looks great! I'm going to one-click it tonight

OK Geemont you were a little hard to choose for. So one is off of your to be read, now i know it is a long one but i hope you don't mind since like said it is on your to be read list.: The on of the others would be an author I noticed you haven't read any of. At least not ac courding to your goodreads: The last one is a true crime one: If none of these works for ya just tell me and I can choose more.

Finished... Wow. Just wow. I'm not sure I could have read this if I didn't know the author is happily living on a farm in upstate NY raising goats and making cheese...with his beloved life partner (who unfortunately is not Jack. I suspect Jack is probably dead, which makes me sad). This was an amazing read. A little scary at times and very well written. I'm not sure I ever laughed out loud, Geoffrey, although I could see the humor (and absurdity) in the story he was telling. The only thing that was missing (for me) was a little more description of why he needed to be Aqua. There was a great chapter on how he became her but I never fully understood why--what compelled him. For that reason, I am giving it 4.5 stars but still definitely recommended. Thanks for this choice for me, Geoffrey. I've just downloaded The Bucolic Plague and am ready to dive right into that. Oh, and for the geek in you Geoffrey...I started reading this at 7:30 this morning and finished at 1:30 pm. I did have an hour break to run a few errands. Yes, I definitely whizzed through this book! Geemont, I am going to read Something Missing and Faithful place this month. I will start with the former and I have the latter on reserve at the library. That one is going to be read on my *gasp* Nook. That is, if Geoffrey allows it...lol...

vg: My first recommendation is a YA fantasy book (it's the first in a 6 book series -- I've only finished the first two.) It's about teenage twins who get caught up in a war between ancient beings, but find out that they are the subject of a prophecy which states that they will either save or destroy the world. (It is lendable, and if you want to borrow it, I can lend it to you.) My second recommendation is non-fiction. It discusses the genocidal policies of Hitler and Stalin iin much greater detail than American schools get into. This 2010 biography of George Washington is a blatant violation of the $9.99 rule ($19.99, but the print version is over 900 pages), but I just finished it and loved it, so I am throwing it out here. Let me know if none of these work for you. Hi vg: Have you had a chance to see if any of these would work for you? I'm going on vacation tomorrow, and if none of these work, I would like a chance to submit alternates.

Kaotickitten, Although Under the Dome is on my Goodreads TBR list, it's too long for my plan to finish 142 books this year, especially since I've got GWTW (900 pages) still to start. I own an unread DTB of The God Project that isn't listed that I picked up for under a buck at the Friends of the Seattle Library a few years ago. But I haven't read a true crime in 20+ years I'm going to go for Watch Mommy Die.

Geoffrey, sorry if my showing the book, then the explanation threw you off... the favorite was Tick Tock! LOL! Gods Behaving Badly was one that had been selected for me in a prior month of this game. I did enjoy it, but calling it a favorite would be pushing it. I hope you like it!
