Hey Everyone, it's time again to sign up for another round ... so get your name on the list ... I'm not that big on rules, but you need some to keep everyone in line. So here are the rules and how the game works: When signing up:1. Sign up runs from the 20th through the 28th 2. State your Usual genres 3. List any Deal-breakers (genres, cost, size, etc.) 4. If you want to use last month's information again, just let me know .... 5. Be filled with anticipation and a little dread Picking a book:1. You'll get your selectee's name and info on the 29th 2. Pick a book you love and adore, is outside your person's usual genres, not a Deal breaker, 3. and that is no more than - $9.99 ... 4. You get to think about it and stew until the game thread is created on the first day of the month … 5. Stress out over whether your selection is good enough 6. Add a second selection if you want – or don’t – it’s all good. 7. I'll create the game thread in the Book Klub on the 1st where you will post your selection(s). Once you get your book:1. Be surprised at the choice and maybe a little unsure 2. If you get two selections, let us know which one you’re choosing 2.5 Or choose both 3. Read your book (no cheating) 4. Come back to the thread often to tell us what you think. 5. And most of all, have fun ... Other rules1. You have veto power over your selection - if its just too far out for you, ask for a new one - no one will hate you 2. If you're late to sign up, no worries, we have back-up selector minions - just PM me ... 3. If life happens and your selector doesn't give you a book by the 5th, a new selector will be assigned for you 4. We're all grown folks here, so just act like one ....

I'm in again. Usual genres: Horror, Paranormal/Supernaturl Thrillers, Apocalyptic fiction, Some Sci Fi...my taste in books is actually pretty broad....these are just my favorites. Deal-breakers: Homosexual romances, short story anthology(I like long, involved books), anything political This is my first attempt at inserting a hyperlink. If it works, its my Goodreads page. http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/4528649-ciscokid

I was bad and should have posted yesterday. Here is the Selectee list for September .... I'll create the new game thread On Thursday so we still have most of a couple days to overthink our selections: | Selector | Selectee | Genres | Dealbreakers | | Annalog | MoyJoy | My goodreads For me price is not a deal breaker so my selector can do more than 9.99 if they're passionate about it. | historical/non-fiction; TALKING ANIMALS! | | Basilius | Annalog | Science Fiction; Mystery; Fantasy, I have an account on Goodreads | No Deal Breakers | | Berrytastic | Jeff | biographies, non-fiction, fact-based fiction or historical novels. | No erotica, please. | | ciscokid | Basilius | Science Fiction; Military History | Romance (Paranormal or otherwise), Horror, and Religion (with intent to convert). | | djgross | imallbs | Mystery/Detective; American and Western European History This is supposed to be a link to my Goodreads list but I'm not promising anything. | No Deal Breakers | | drenfrow | Leslie | I'll be honest, I'm the most high-maintenance player in this game. I love being a picker (and I think I do pretty well in that department) but I have a harder time as a pickee. Ready to take me on? Okay, here's a few parameters
| No Deal Breakers | | Emily King | ciscokid | Horror, Paranormal/Supernaturl Thrillers, Apocalyptic fiction, Some Sci Fi...my taste in books is actually pretty broad....these are just my favorites. | Homosexual romances, short story anthology(I like long, involved books), anything political | | fadedrainbows | KingAl | Sci-fi/fantasy, Mystery/thrillers. Here's my Goodreads | Romance | | Geoffrey | drenfrow | Mystery, Fantasy/Sci Fi, Science/History of Science | extreme violence/gore, extreme sadness, horror/scary stuff, You can check out my books on Goodreads: Donna's Books | | imallbs | Berrytastic | crime book reader and have recently discovered historical fiction such as pillars of the earth. | apart from a barbara cartland style romantic novel i am prepared to try most things . | | Jeff | Emily King | Urban Fantasy; Paranormal; Horror; Mystery here is my Goodreads | Non-Fiction; Religious / political with the intent of change; Harlequin-style romance. Chick Lit. I would prefer an indie or something less expensive, if possible. | | kaotickitten | fadedrainbows | Paranormal Romance, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Chick Lit My Goodreads | No Deal Breakers | | KingAl | Geoffrey | Science Fiction; Fantasy; Alternate History; gay themed books. You can find me on goodreads here. | No Deal Breakers | | Leslie | Tripp | historical fiction; chick lit; family saga; drama; suspense; thrillers; religion is OK if it is presented culturally, not to convert. | Horror and any creature that is typically associated with horror (vampires, zombies, werewolves, etc.). | | MoyJoy | kaotickitten | Christian Romances, YA fantasy | No Deal Breakers | | Tripp | Tuttle | Fantasy, Science Fiction | I'm going to have to set some sort of monetary limit. This may be edited but for now lets say $5. Nothing extremely depressing. | | Tuttle | djgross | Mystery, suspense | No Deal Breakers |

Yikes!!! Leslie!!! Leslie, I have some books I'm considering that are $12.99. Is that a deal breaker? It's okay if it is, I have some others that are cheaper, I'd just like to know so I don't list books you won't even consider. No, that's not a deal breaker for me. Similarly....Tripp, I am looking at a book that costs $14.99 -- would that bust the budget for you? Let me know because I also have other ideas. Thanks! L

Leslie, I pay little or nothing most of the time and I reserve spending $$$ mostly for this game. So, $14.99 is not out of my league. Tuttle, I will do my best to find a good book for $5 or less. Not impossible but I need to go off an do some research...

Annalog, we're currently on a Disneyland vacation, so I may not have your recommendations for a couple days. I'll be thinking about it, though, while waiting in lines.

Enjoy your vacation. My dh and I will be at Disneyworld at the end of the month. Can't wait!! Hopefully I'll have a couple of book ideas for you by the time you get back. I'm just now realizing that I have read a lot more romance than I thought I had, so finding a couple of selections for you will take longer than I thought. lol

Enjoy your vacation. I am spending most spare minutes preparing for two vacation trips in September so there is no rush. Besides, I still need to read the book for August. (At least I finished my July book! ) ETA: Note to Geoffrey: Please extend the time for Basilius to post a selection for me until at least the 15th before requesting a backup selector minion. Vacations, especially at Disneyland, take precedence!
