I've read complaints about lack of activity on a couple of other message boards recently.  I do believe it has a lot to do with the time of the year.  I've been keeping up with the OYB daily readings, but I haven't had the time to read the blog entries on the OYB site like I used to.

Welcome Sanveann, feel free to h hang out with us or drop in anytime.  Smiley

NYC, I am checking this thread everyday so my time here (OYB) hasn't changed. I made a conscious decision to spend more time reading and utilizing my free time in a more productive way. That is hard to do when you work a 40 hour week and are averaging at least 21 hours a week on KB. I have some great friends here and enjoy time spent on KB. I will admit it can become addictive and I found myself hanging out when I should be cleaning house or I could be working in my garden or reading.

Be assured people cutting back on KB has nothing to do with you!

I plan to use my long weekend getting some Spring housecleaning done.

Have a blessed day guys!

I am keeping up with my OBY reading, but barely, I have fallen behind on my morning and evening readings through.  Sometimes Charles just goes over my head.

I have been enjoying reading about Saul and David, sometimes read that part ahead.

Geoff, why do I get the feeling from your posts that you're admonishing me?
Good Lord no. I LOVE your posts.  Well thought out. Helpful and full of info.
This is one of the things that is a problem with the written word compared to face-to-face. People can "see" what you mean when you are in the same room.  Posting like this (even worse can be texts) can cause misunderstandings.  Especially when many of us are just shooting off responses to try to contribute to the overall thought process.  Unfortuneately the typed word can be reviewed at length and then sometimes appears to have other meaning.  People often find meanings in paems, novels and even paintings that the Authors and poets, and painters never intended.
So to sum it up.....I am sorry if I gave offense.
None was intended.
I have only respect for what I have seen in your comments.

I hope that folks out there aren't under the impression that the OYB Book Klub is coming to an end. That is not the case. As I said in my previous post in this thread, I am cutting back on Kindle Board time, and the two sections I will continue to check daily is the OYB Book Klub & The Book Bazaar (love those freebies & bargains!).

As far as the comments dwindling on the readings, I have also noticed this too. It would help keep the readings interesting if more would participate. I realize that some people have more Bible knowledge than others, but even for those who feel they don't have much Bible knowledge, it would be helpful if you posted a comment to the effect of "I liked such and such scripture today" or "I'm finding this information on so and so interesting." Even if you would post a question you might have about the day's reading it would help get discussion going. And please remember to post in the appropriate month's thread. Here is a link for May's comments: http://www.kindleboards.com/index.php/topic,7420.0.html

If we don't put much into the Book Klub, we probably won't get much out of it.

As I stated last night, life and strife sorta took over my life lately and I have fallen behind. I decided today that I would go ahead and jumped to today's date and begin reading again from there. In the evenings, I will go back to where I got behind and read those days before I go to bed until I reach May 22. That way I will be where I should be in the mornings so I can contribute once again (or at least acknowledge that I know what's going on!!).

Like Suzanne stated. We don't have to be bible scholars to comment. My comments today were really just how the scripture reading today made me feel!

Hello Everyone,

Well as you might have been able to tell, my ox has been in the ditch for about four months now.  I have new symptoms that have appeared for few of my medical conditions.  The doctors and I have been seeing quite a bit of each other here lately.  We have had to redo all of my meds and it is quite an under taking.  At this point we see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.  I just have a moment and wanted to say hello, since I don’t know when I can come back again.  Angela thanks for doing the list on who all has been here.  I remember each of you each day.  I hope that out wonderful God has blessed each of you.

I've been checking KB everyday, but like several others I was finding that I was actually few reading books because of my time spent on here. Also with spring, I've been outside a lot more and enjoying the warmer weather. I am addicted to the OYB threads and check the Free Books and Bargain Books thread but don't post often.

I've had lots of health issues and when days are good I try to be on my feet as much as possible getting things done.

But overall, I think there is less posting because during December through mid February there were a lot of people waiting for their Kindles to arrive and then at the end of February and March there was so much talk and excitement about the release of the new K2 and accessories.

With the new DX, there is some excitement there but not like the with the K2. So I think most people on Kindleboards now have a Kindle and their favorite accessories so at least for me some of the other thread don't hold the interest like they used to.

But I am very grateful for the OYB thread and all on here.

All of you are such wonderful online friends and a blessing to me.

Good hearing from you again, Lynn. The OYB Klub has been a blessing for me. The important thing though is to keep up with the day's reading. I know for me there are some days when it's almost bedtime before I have time to read it. For me, I have to make the time, not find the time if you know what I mean. I hope your health gets better soon. Please take care of yourself. Love, Suzi

How are you doing Lynn, other than trying to keep moving?  You are still on my prayer list and I am concerned about you.

I am definitely still here and still consider myself to be part of the group. I have fallen behind lately and I am behind on my readings, but I am trying to catch up.

We need to remember that it isn't always quantity (# of posts) that counts.... it's quality.... and this group is quality.
Lettie.... it was so good to hear from you!
Lynn.... you're in our prayers and it was so wonderful to hear from you.  Post when you can... you're a precious part of our group here!
TC.... our prayers for you and your health are constant.  We look forward to hearing from you when you are able.  Medical needs can be such a difficult time.... but our hope and trust are in Him.  I pray that the doctors get this all figured out for you and you start feeling better soon.
Suzi, thanks for just being you!  You are such an encourager to all of us...... it is definitely one of your God-given gifts and we are so blessed by you and your posts!
Angela.... I pray your muscle spasms are much improved and your household is blessed!
Anju.... your posts always make me smile all throughout KB!  I have a mental picture of you on the curb with your cup of mediocre coffee on June 6th.
All of you are so very precious to me - have a blessed week-end!

I have now caught up  for all of the readings except Spurgeon, and I will do that tomorrow. I have thoroughly enjoyed 1 and 2 Sam. thus far, and I find the dynamics of it much more interesting than some of the earlier books of the OT. It might be hard trying to grasp all of the "rules" and constant animal sacrificing in the earlier books, but as in Sam., I think everyone can relate to the familial conflicts.  On the NT- I find John to be just the most poignant and beautiful.
Good Night-

The problem with Sam, is all the durn names!  They are so very foreign to me  Huh and I have to work to keep them straight, but find myself reading ahead to find out what is going to happen next, then John pops up and I have to read what wonderful wisdom he is going to impart.

Dona, I'm struggling with the names and keeping it straight who is who in Samuel also.  It's good reading though and I'm enjoying it.  Our readings in John have been wonderful too!
