Kindle All Stars presents Resistance Front is multiple genre anthology in which all proceeds will benefit the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Harlan Ellison and Alan Dean Foster and several people from these very boards are featured inside Click this link to buy a copy http://apiarysociety.typepad.com/kindleallstars/ as well as page two of this very thread The most important item of all here is that all proceeds of the book are going to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. http://www.missingkids.com/missingkids/servlet/PublicHomeServlet?LanguageCountry=en_US&So this is for charity and the more reviews we get that first day of release the higher in the ranks the book will go and the better our chances of a wide audience.

The more I hear of these popular authors joining the anthology, the more nervous I get in anticipation, hoping my story is picked to stand next to theirs!

You know, if you guys didn't want to make this a one time thing, you could sell subscriptions on the Kindle and make it a running show. More money for a good cause and for good writing. Just an idea.

I'm going to be submitting sometime next week - waiting on my beta readers to give me a thumbs up or down. This is an exciting project. Can't wait to see if I'm accepted.

My short story is about 80% complete, and I'm looking forward to submitting it. What's weird is, I've had this idea for a story in my head for a while, and it's about missing and exploited children. So it's great the proceeds are going towards the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
I'm new to this sort of thing, so I have a question. How does the editing work? Will our submitted manuscripts be returned to us with suggested changes, or does Bernard have final editing power?

Sorry I'm late- here is what he e-mailed me tonight
"The editing process so far has involved me reading a story and deciding if it was appropriate for inclusion or not. If it is, I do an edit that can be as little as correcting a few grammar mistakes to major overhauls of the entire manuscript.
What I then do is send the edited story back to the author with all of my changes clearly spelled out (via Word’s Track Changes feature). I tell the author to consider my suggestions and make the ones they see fit. There have been a few times when the author and I have disagreed, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because it is their story and their voice.
Ultimately, they get final say-so over how the story looks and reads. I get final say-so over if it gets included. So far, it’s been working out. " Bernard J Schaffer Hope this helps- Frank

Great Thanks for passing the word
Just remind them that tonight is the deadline (They can submit the synopsis or a partial and then Bernard will give them a nudge letting them know when the absolute FINAL drop dead time to be finished is.... but they have to submit something by tonight)

The big news is that Harlan Ellison will contribute a story to the anthology!
So if you get selected you'll be sharing paper with some true heavyweights of literature including Ellison as well as Alan Dean Foster!
And of course, it's midnight here in Ohio so time is up on submissions
We'll be announcing the final list of stories soon (well, maybe more like next month)

I'm delighted--and somewhat stunned--to find out my story is included.
I'm honored to be part of a project that contributes to such an important cause.
Thanks Frank for alerting me to the opportunity.
