Everyone remembers the fabulous rhyming stories of old Mother Goose from their childhood, but did you know that she's kept a dark, haunting secret for many long years? Mother Goose is not all she seems to be. Oh, sure, during the daylight hours when the birds are singing and children are laughing, Mother Goose is friendly and wonderful and proper. But when the darkness falls and the coyote calls, that old goose turns into something much less loveable…much more sinister…forever known to the world as Granny Gruesome! Recommended for teens and older due to dark comedic verse and over-the-top illustrations. http://www.amazon.com/Granny-Gruesome-Nursery-Children-ebook/dp/B005L95X5C/

Here's another sample from Granny Gruesome: "Wee Willie Warlock" Wee Willie Warlock runs through your house Upstairs, downstairs, quiet as a mouse. Sneaking in your room, watching as you sleep His hands hush your mouth so you can’t make a peep. You can read the rest of the nursery rhymes and see all the crazy illustrations for only $.99 on Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005L95X5C/

Awesome rhymes! I know my stepsons would love it if I could get them off the Xbox. Actually, I may get it for my hubby. He loves that kind of thing. Did you put it on Createspace? My Kindle broke last night. Thus, spending time on KB. A real paper book would be cool with illustrations.

Thanks for the compliment. I had a great time coming up with the Granny Gruesome rhymes. A Createspace book would be awesome, and I'm interested in doing that at some point. Here's another rhyme from the book: "Georgie Porgie" Georgie Porgie, full of lard, Ate everything, fresh or charred. When he ran out of food to eat, Georgie Porgie ate his feet. http://www.amazon.com/Granny-Gruesome-Nursery-Children-ebook/dp/B005L95X5C/

Granny Gruesome is $.99 on Kindle. If you know someone who likes silly poetry mixed with cartoony, macabre pictures, then Granny Gruesome is right up their alley. Here is another rhyming sample: "Old Mother Farkus" Old Mother Farkus Went to the carcass To fetch her son some ribs. But when she got there The carcass was bare, Because she forgot to call dibs. http://www.amazon.com/Granny-Gruesome-Nursery-Children-ebook/dp/B005L95X5C/

This book interests me, but when I do the "look inside" preview, there is no content. This may be due to the cover image taking up too much space (I see it twice)... but in any event, there's no way to know if the content measures up to the "promise of the premise," which is a shame. Maybe you could include an example in your sales material?

Ian, thanks for the head's up. I just made changes to the book to get rid of the extra cover art, so you should be able to preview more of it soon on Amazon.com. I appreciate you pointing that out. I do have examples of the poems in various earlier posts, but none of the art. The graphics are all black and white and hand drawn.
