When monsters appear on Earth, Maggie MacKay is on the job. No one is better at hauling the creepy crawlies back where they belong. No one, that is, except Maggie's dad, who disappeared in the middle of an assignment without a trace.

Now, an elf named Killian has shown up with a gig. Seems Maggie’s uncle teamed up with the forces of dark to turn Earth into a vampire convenience store, serving bottomless refills on humans.

The only hope for survival lies in tracking down two magical artifacts and a secret that disappeared with Maggie's dad.

WARNING: This book contains cussing, brawling, and unladylike behavior. Proceed with caution.

Hello again, Kate, and congratulations on your book!  Smiley

Please note that KindleBoards is a Readers and Kindle Fan forum.  Authors are always welcome to post anywhere but, as you browse the 'boards, please keep in mind that self-promotion, of any sort, is ONLY allowed here in the Book Bazaar.

A brief recap of our rules follows: (Note that this doesn't mean you've done anything wrong; we just want you to have a ready reference, so post this note in every thread. Smiley )

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function) so you can update it and add to it when there is more information, as we ask that authors have only one thread per book.  You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice).

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days.  Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link.  Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KindleBoards as time allows.  This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles!  Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post.  For information on more ways to promote here on KindleBoards, be sure to check out this thread:

All this, and more, is included in our Forum Decorum.  Be sure to check it from time to time for the current guidelines and rules.

http://twistingthelens.wordpress.com/2012/01/20/maggie-for-hire-by-kate-danley/

Twisting the Lens just said some of the nicest things a person could say about Maggie for Hire!  Check out the great review!

"Kate Danley has served up a female lead character to fill the gap that the ending of Buffy the Vampire Slayer left in the world of sci-fi/fantasy....Maggie for Hire is an enjoyable, quick read that had me laughing the entire time.  She is a brash, sarcastic, unladylike character than is easy to love- a lot of Buffy with a dose of Daria thrown in.  Danley doesn’t get off track with trying to throw in a romance for Maggie, which is somewhat refreshing in today’s sci-fi/fantasy genre.  She is a tough, smart, and resourceful lead character that will leave you waiting for more." - Twisting the Lens

RIGHT!?!?  I know.  Thank you Twisting the Lens!

"If urban fantasy could be bottled, then this story is a shot-glass full of awesomesauce." - Dark Side of the Covers

WHOA!!! Check out this FANTASTIC review of Maggie for Hire by Dark Side of the Covers! Seriously, I can't think of anything nicer a person could say about my book. She got it. EVERYTHING. I think her review is more entertaining than my book!  I'm off to print out this review to carry around in my wallet... and draw little hearts all over it...

Your wish is my command!  Smiley  The artist has been commissioned for the cover, the manuscript is in the final draft stages before beta reading and editorial, and hopefully *crossing fingers* everything will fall into place for a Summer 2012 release!  *knocking on wood* *throwing salt over shoulder* *kissing a horseshoe*

Dark Side of the Covers has been absolutely amazing to me.  After their fantastic review, they asked if they could interview me.  Here it is.  All the nuts and bolts you didn't even know you wanted to know.

The Paperback Pursuer gave Maggie for Hire a great review!

"The plot is action-packed, full of gory detail, and overflowing with the "unladylike behavior" promised on the back cover. I had a lot of fun reading, and was surprised that it was over so fast. The chapters were a nice short length, and the dialogue was fun and feisty. I only wish that I would have taken my time so there would be more to read!" - The Paperback Pursuer

Pop on over to http://thepaperbackpursuer.blogspot.com/2012/02/review-117-maggie-for-hire-by-kate.html to go check it out!  It made my day!

Double your trouble, double your fun!  Maggie for Hire has a shiny new eCover designed by the AMAZING LTD Designs!

And for those who love the original design, well, don't you fret, you can buy it in paperback and hang it over your bed to keep the monsters away at night.

Well, this review just made my day!  Head on over to Once Upon a Time for a review by Kelly of Reading the Paranormal that warmed this gal's heart.

"The writing is fast paced, the quips are fun, and Maggie cracked me up something fierce...Quirky, fun and gory, I can envision Maggie on a lot of different adventures down the line."

You've waited for this moment... You've hoped and dreamed it would come... Well, little camper, those dreams are about to come true!  It is the official announcement about Book II in the Maggie MacKay: Magical Tracker series!

Maggie Get Your Gun will be hitting shelves this Memorial Day weekend 2012!  Oh happiness!  And look at that gorgeous cover by the super talented Von Dada (www.vondada.com)!

Remember you can still grab Maggie for Hire (Maggie MacKay - Magical Tracker) as a free borrow if you're an Amazon Prime member.  And if you're not?  The Kindle version is less than a venti frappachino.  So open up a venti can of kickachino!  More cussing!  More brawling!  More Maggie!  This Memorial Day!
