My K3 is in a case with a kickstand, which I adore b/c I can prop it up anywhere. I was thrilled to see Amazon suggest a Fire cover with a stand, but there isn't much detail in terms of which way the stand works. My guess is that I'll want it to go both ways (someone correct me on that if I'm wrong!) so I'm wondering if I'd just be taking it out of the case anyway-- in which case instance, does a sleeve make more sense than a case? Which provides more protection? What will you be getting, if anything?

The stands they have on offer are not very attractive, to say the least. . . . .the sleeves are o.k. but don't excite me.  I'll wait to decide until after I have the thing . . . .things come pretty fast with Prime 2 day anyway. . . .

Betsy, I liked your Gardenour Leather sleeve so much that I ordered one for my Kindle Fire. I love the rustic look of the sleeves. Thank you for posting your picture which motivated me. I was going to wait for all the new covers to come out but this sleeve fits me just fine.
