I just got a K3 - excuse me, Kindle Keyboard Wink - a few weeks ago. After an excruciating* wait for my cheapo cover, I've got it all fancied up and finally ready to safely go out in public.

*Not really excruciating, but annoying. USPS showed it in Dallas Friday night. I didn't get it until yesterday afternoon. I'll grant you that I don't live in Dallas proper, but I can see the skyline from my 15-minutes-away backyard, so I thought it a little ridiculous. Anyway. Pictures!

This: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SX5PM8 is the case I got. I bought it the day that the new Kindles were announced, and the price dropped from $11.95 to $9.99 in between putting it in my cart and checking out. Score!

I really like the case. It's not real leather, of course, but for ten bucks who cares? It's really well constructed, and while not heavy, it's more rigid than I expected. Which is a major bonus with four critters (three canine, one human) in the house.

Open, revealing my brighter-than-bright nokey skin that made my husband just kinda shake his head:

The case doesn't lay completely flat when open if the tab is flipped inwards to hold the case open. However, it does mean it can stand up on its own, so yea!

Found a booklight on clearance for five bucks at Target. Woohoo! It fits great on the naked Kindle, less well on the Kindle+case. But since I mainly need it for reading on the couch at night, I can deal with that.

And the reason it took me so long to justify a Kindle... I've been wanting one for ages -

Anyway, I'm just really excited to have it all protected and ready to go in the wild, and thought I'd share with like-minded folks. Smiley

Heavens, I think there are more books on your shelves than there are in the branch of our local county library!

But awesome colors! I've noticed some covers for the K3 Kindle Keyboard elsewhere on sale, too. Maybe I'll snatch a couple before they get too hard to find.

You could really dress it up with stickies like flowers or decals.
Not bad for the price you paid.

Very nice deal indeed!  I got a pink one very similar and same price awhile back.  I love it and it's sturdy!
Now what are you going to do with all those books?   and the shelves?  Maybe a school or women's shelter?
Happy Kindle reading!

Thanks for sharing with us.
Your house looks like mine, except neater, plus I have boxes and boxes of books,
probably one of the main reasons I got the Kindle (as well as ease for travel), I just couldn't make room for more books, they were taking over!
Don't you just love your Kindle? It looks so pretty!

 Cheesy

I may or may not have framed that shot very carefully to show only my recently cleaned off and organized bookshelves, and not all the crap valuable but misplaced belongings still piled up on the sides of the shelves. There also may or may not be another bookshelf full, on the other side of a window. And actually, they're all staying. I'd say that at least 60% of them, and most likely more, belong to my literature-major, English-teaching husband. He doesn't appear to have any interest in an ereader. We've both been big readers all our lives, so we really want to cultivate that in our daughter (who at not-quite-three doesn't read yet but loves to flip through books). And really, I'm total crap at decorating, if those shelves weren't there I don't know what I'd do with that vast expanse of wall!  Wink

Thanks for all the compliments, folks. I am really quite amused with myself and my retina-searing Kindle. Smiley
