You can get a refurbished one for $179 - and there've been special deals on them recently for about $150.  I'd go that route, mostly because if you buy one used the one-year warranty will NOT convey to you as a new owner unless there's an extended warranty on it.  I got one from overstock.com about a month ago for $160 (the price on B&N is $179) - would've been $150 if I hadn't waffled until after midnight eastern time.

Great advice because most people don't know that the regular warranty won't transfer from B&N products.  We have been spoiled by Customer Service from Amazon Kindle products.

B&N has now dropped prices on refurbished Touch and Nook Color. $79 for Touch and $149 for Color on both their site and their store on eBay. Nook 2 must be coming.
