Blood of Requim by Daniel arensen which was one of my recommendations and is fantasy and I totally loved it

Pete, I wanted to let you know that I sampled all 3 titles. You are right, the Reacher series is right up my alley and I am very interested in reading more of Follett's book. I am reading "Blood of Requim" and am really enjoying it. I do read fantasy from time to time, but nothing like Requim. Thanks!!  BTW, I am looking forward to reading the other 2 as well.

I have KingAl, a bit of a challenge....looking at your Goodreads and other books, I have come up with an eclectic choice of three books for you. In order of what I hope you will select:



This was a book I stumbled upon from some review site. It's very good (I think I have recommended it here before and I know Geoffrey has read it). A guy's mid-life crisis story. Not too long and it's a fast read since I couldn't put it down.

Leslie: I finished Probation. While the book was undeniably well-written, I just couldn't identify with the protagonist (partially due to being neither gay nor married, and partially that I found him kind of annoying) and there was a little bit too much romance in the book (for my taste.)  It was worth reading, but not something I'm very likely to re-read. Thanks for the pick!

I just finished Pillars of the Earth today. It is a really well written book. I can definitely understand why people tend to recommend people read it. Unfortunately, I am having a really hard time putting my thoughts about the book into words so am not able to report back with a descriptive reaction to the book. However I can say that I enjoy it and might recommend it to others (might because it'd be very dependent on the person, too many people think if religion has anything to do with it then its evil).

Geoffrey, I finished , I really enjoyed that book.

It kept me interested from the beginning to the end.  All I can say when I finished I was very relieved that he made it to his destination.  But I still wanted to punch his mother in the mouth!!

I hear ya.  Loved the story and I wanted to smack that lady upside the head.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I finished Sharpes Tiger yesterday and i have mixed feeling about it.The start and the end i loved for some reason, and it may have been me i seemed to get a little bogged down in the middle.However, i will say this I finished the book and i immediately decided that i would be reading more in the series from which you can draw your own conclusions

KingAl, I'm glad to hear it was moderately successful for you. Thanks for taking the time to read it.

Meanwhile, as I mentioned earlier, Greyhound was a Prime lending book so I went ahead and borrowed it and finished it yesterday. It was very good and definitely gave me things to think about. I'll give it 4 stars because there were a few continuity errors that were driving me crazy and should have been fixed in the edit. (For example, as the end of the book Sebastien tells his sister he bought his Walkman in Los Angeles, when in fact, he bought it in Phoenix.) But overall, it was a good story and I am glad I read it.

Okay, so I am making it further in Pride & Prejudice but it is slow going. I'm 11% in and I feel like nothing is happening. For me, it's like slogging through mud. I will continue reading it, but not quickly and I won't finish it this month. Apprently, I'm just not a classics reader

  Phooey.  Well, if you're not liking it, I say go ahead and abandon it.  I think it would have grabbed you by 11% if it was going to.  Sorry it didn't work out.

Ciskokid I just finished reading Bakkian Chronicles, Book 1.  I throughly enjoyed it.  At first it was alittle slow than got better abrecomending it.out 43% in.  After that it went quickly.  Thanks for
