They don't give an estimated shipping date, but I pre-ordered anyway based on my love for their iPad 2 cover. The 4 corners are sturdy enough to hold the iPad in place, but pliable enough not to damage the iPad. This case looks like it's basically the same design, but it's imitation leather. IMHO it's a good price too--$29.99 with free U.S. shipping. Here's a link:

I think Cyber Acoustics has a sponsor thread on KB also. (Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the company beyond being a satisfied customer.)

That does look nice.   I wish they offered it in the red too but would be OK with black.  I hope they update with an approximate date to know what kind of wait time we are looking at.  The rep hasn't posted here for awhile.   It would be nice to get some more info on their plans.

Thanks for posting.

I also am a very satisfied customer. I have a nylon and (real) leather flip-top case for my K3. It is very lightwt and I love those corners...they are protective but it's easy to get the device in & out if you want to use it without the cover.

They have other covers in red so hopefully they'll diversify this line too!

I emailed them on when these would be available.  They responded that they expect to ship December 6th.

I should have asked about other colors - like red but forgot.

December 6th isn't bad. Thanks for posting that.

You're welcome.   I agree that is sooner than I expected based on no date being posted.   I responded and asked about other color options and will post if I hear anything more on that.

Update from Cyber Acoustics.

The black should ship November 30th.

Red will be available but not until January.

I like the mounting system on this so I might just try this one out.   I think I would prefer red but I will put a skin on so maybe that will add enough color to basic black.

ETA - I ordered this in black.   I wish it had an elastic or other way to keep it closed but maybe it does and I am missing that.   Still I like the mounting system enough that I will give this a try.  Right now my Fire is in an Oberon K3/KK cover and fits just fine.   The straps do cover the one speaker although I didn't think it made a huge difference.   If I decide to go with an Oberon later, I would have it made without the leather pocket.   SInce the screen is so flat, there is nothing to keep the screen from coming in contact with the inside of the cover and I prefer not to have anything that might cause an issue.

I didnt go back to look at your link but if it's anything like mine, the elastics inside can be used to keep the back held back while reading/watching OR brought to the front to keep it closed. I didnt realize it until I read the entire cover of my packaging. I didnt think mine had a closure either until I read that...they have a few subtle, well-designed tricks.

Thanks.   And if I had to I think I could sew a wide piece of elastic together to use.  First I need to find the case that I like functionally.

I just received this today (in black) and my initial impressions are that it is a winner.   The leather is soft and the case folds back completely.   It does not add much weight to the fire.   I like the corner mounting system that is slightly raised from the glass of the K-Fire.   My concern was that it didn't look like it had anything to keep it closed but as Lursa mentioned there are little straps that go over the back corners if you want.  There is a wide piece of elastic on the inside cover to assist in holding it.

I liked the Amazon Basics cover but it was heavy.     I think I will like this one better especially the corner mounts.   I will post more once I use it for a little while but at this time I am happy that I got this.
