I bought a used lighted case off ebay a few days ago, and it was a little less "barely used" than I was expecting. Slightly scuffed up, etc. I can deal with that, however, the bungee cord that holds it closed seems like it's loosened. It doesn't come or flop open any when held or gently shook, but when I go to open it it doesn't offer as much resistance as I feel it should. Is this the case normally? Or has it indeed loosened with wear? The seller does offer returns, and I'm debating taking them up on that and just sucking it up and paying for a new one so I *know* I'm going to get its full life span. I hate doing returns though. And, I really want a touch so that's possibly clouding the issue and my judgement. (My KK is only 2 months old!! I'm so fickle. Roll Eyes

Anyway, if anyone could tell me how their lighted case has stood up over time, I'd greatly appreciate it. Is the cord supposed to be somewhat easy to move? It probably rises off the cover about 1/2 to 3/4 inch before giving any resistance. Just wondering if that's the norm, I've never seen a new one. Thanks!

Mine is like that now after a year of heavy use.  Best guess is the cover is well used.

Mine is somewhat stretched, but not as bad as you described.  I've had mine for close to a year but haven't used in exclusively all that time, I switch out covers.  Plus, when I have mine in the lighted cover, I fold the front back and it stays that way most of the time, I don't open-and-close it a lot.

I can see your dilemna, don't know what to tell you Smiley  As far as the Touch, I got one last week and after 3 days of use, I went back to my K3.

My bungee has loosened up a little bit.  My husbands cover is newer than mine and he doesn't read as much, his bungee is still very snug.  So, yes they do stretch with use.  If it's that loose, I'd say the cover you bought has been pretty well used.

Sigh. Thanks ladies. I was afraid that was the case. I wouldn't mind so much if it hadn't been listed as "barely used." I just contacted the seller about a refund. I am actually really pleased with the $10 case I first ordered, but wanted the attached light so I didn't have to mess around with carrying a light around for the few times I want to read in the car when it's dark out. Think I'll just buy a cheap-o light to leave in there.

Good to know about the touch, Patricia. I got to play with a friend's for a few minutes last night, and I really liked it. Preferred the smaller size and navigating on it to the keyboard, but not sure how much the lack of physical buttons would annoy me. Maybe I should check out the baby kindle too...

Money already refunded. That was quick!  Shocked Seller's feedback is quite positive, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that I just got a dud. On the other hand, maybe I'm just too picky...
