This doesn't really belong here but I only post in Fire.  I want to put up an avatar but the profile site tells me:  (Note: you must first make at least one post in the forum, before you can edit your own profile.).
It knows who I am and I have certainly posted so what gives? Do I have to go post in the general Kindle forum?  It's such a great picture too.

It says that because you can't put in a signature or avatar until you have at least one post.

As I type, I see you have 7 posts.  So you should be able to edit your profile without any trouble.

You might look in the Forum Central area if you're having difficulties. (And this thread will probably eventually get moved there. )

I can say that once you upload your avatar picture, you have to close and re-open the browser for it to show.  Has to do with what's already stored in the cache or something.  Oddly, simply refreshing the pages doesn't always work.

I've never had to do the above, but if you find your new photo isn't showing, these are good steps to try.
 

The warning on the Profile page about needing one post appears no matter how many posts one has, and does not mean that you can't modify your profile once you have at least one post.
