So I got my Oberon cover for my KT yesterday, and the bungee is REALLY loose.  As in, I don't have to stretch it at all to wrap it around the clasp -- I just tuck it under the top to hold it in place.

I thought maybe it was that particular bungee, so I switched it out with the replacement, and it's the same way.

For those of you who've gotten your Oberon cover, is your bungee the same way?  I'm guessing that the cover is a little thinner than the other Kindle covers, and so the bungee is a bit too long?  Wondering if Oberon is going to make a slightly shorter bungee for these covers.

Is it loose after you have your device in it?

I should've included this in my original post but I do LOVE my cover!  It's beautiful and I love the look/feel of it, especially the lock/key (I have the Da Vinci).

The bungee isn't ridiculously loose, and it seems to be holding the cover closed, so it may not be that big a deal.  On my Creekbed Maple (for the K2), there was no slack in the bungee and I had to stretch it to get it around the clasp.  This one has enough slack that I don't have to stretch it to take it on/off, but not so much that it won't tuck under the clasp.

To open the cover, I just wind the key around the clasp to untuck the cord, but I don't have to pull or stretch it.  I replaced it with the extra I received with my K2 cover a couple years ago, and it's the same.

But it DOES seem to be keeping it closed without any problem -- it's just not as snug as I was used to on my other cover.  Since both of these bungees are the same length, I thought they were a standard length and didn't know if I'd be able to get a shorter one.

Thanks again for responding!  Everyone I've talked/emailed with at Oberon has been so great!!  I do love the cover and the quality is EXCELLENT!!

Called the office and Eileen is going to send me some shorter bungees to see if they're a snugger fit.

Great customer service, as always!!  Thanks, Oberon Design!!

I like the reviews I'm reading here about the Oberon products.  I have the Kindle Touch.  I'm not finding any case/light combos that are wowing me.  I may just go with the Oberon and find a decent clip-on light (recommendations please).  Some have knocked the price but I have no problem justifying cost when getting a quality product and excellent customer service is in the mix.

I'm an idiot.  Bungee was loose because of the inserts being taken out.  (That was enabling the edges of the front & back covers to pull towards each other, which created slack in the bungee.)

Inserts back in, bungee is now taut.  DOH!

I took my inserts out and it didn't change the tautness of my bungie at all.
