So I ordered the lighted cover for my baby kindle but ended up disliking it a great bit. Color (green) is yuckie, but I could get used to it. Light is pretty good, not even, but as good as the kindle 3 light. But what I really disliked was how slippery the outside is. There is just no way of holding it comfortable as it constantly has the urge to slip out of my hands and when picking it up I have to be really careful not to drop it because it constantly wants to escape due to the smooth back.

So I'm shopping around for a good combination of cover and a light.

Anyone has a suggestion?

I can't suggest a cover (I hate them, personally, and read my Kindles without one).

But, as for lights:  I used to regularly use the Mighty Bright XtraFlex 2 on the K2, and it's probably the best balance of adequate, even light coverage versus cost. But it's heavy...and too bulky to use on the Touch, so on the baby Kindle, I can see where it could be just way too big. It would absolutely have to be clipped to the cover to use, the clip is too large for the K4’s bezel.

I've also regularly used the Kandle, and it's what I use right now for the Touch. The light it produces is not as even as what you can get when you adjust the Mighty Bright just right. There's a definite falloff near the bottom of the screen, though when batteries are fresh and the room is dark, it's not bad. It's also VERY light and clips right to the device. But it takes large button batteries, which don't last anywhere near the 25 hours they claim you'll get, are not rechargeable, and are a nuisance to change out. And if you read even a few hours a night, you'll be changing them every week or two. (You can buy them by the 25 pack from Amazon for around $6, way cheaper than in your local stores.)

I've seen good ratings for the rechargeable Verso, but I prefer units without built in batteries. Nothing worse than realizing you're out of juice and need to charge up; better to be able to simply swap out the batteries quickly and get right to reading. But those who have it seem to like it a lot.

So...for me, I have an Octovo Solis on the way. The K3 model, when it comes back in stock, WILL fit perfectly on the K4. It takes a single AA battery, so I can use rechargeables, and it's lighter than the Mighty Bright. We'll see how I like it once it arrives tomorrow!

I like the Belkin Folio but the color selection is pretty limited. You have a choice of black, purple, and a hot coral pink (available at Target).  My son has the black, my daughter has the purple.  Its very, very lightweight and nicely made. We use the M-Edge e-luminator light and just slide it between the Kindle and cover. It shuts off after an hour, has three brightness levels and you just tap it to turn off/on.

Thanks both for the suggestion.

Just wondering, will a stand up case be workable with reading in bed? I have a 10 pound gift card from Amazon.co.uk, got it as aplogie for the long delivery of the lighted case and now thinking I might spend it there on a new cover for my kindle. Kind of looking at a stand up case this time, maybe to use in bed...lie on my side having the kindle stand up and read that way. Now I often try to prop it up against my wall. My hands just often don't want to work right in holding it for a long time.
Here are two I'm considering:

and

Although not sure about the color purple yet. *grin* I'm more of a pink person but for the second they only have a very light pink which I don't like much. But I do like the many levels of putting it in angle on the second one. The top one only has 3 angles.

Anyone experience with flip stand up cases?
