I'm new to the Kindles, we just got a Touch and a Fire.

I have whispersync tuned on.  I have noticed that if I bookmark something on the Fire, the bookmark will later show up on my Touch.  But if I bookmark something on my Touch it never goes into the Fire.  It's not really a big deal for me, but this does seem odd to me.  Is there a reason for this?  Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

It's probably a good idea to make sure you go to the Home screen on your Touch when you've finished reading, this seems to be the action that tells the Kindle to upload your bookmarks.

Also, make sure you have "Annotations Backup" enabled in settings - note that the settings menu works strangely (at first glance) - if it says "turn off" next to the item that means it's turned on right now, and clicking will turn it off!

If that doesn't help, have a look through the sync topic in our FAQ (http://www.kindleboards.com/index.php/topic,73465.msg1183688.html#msg1183688) - although it's not written for the Touch and the Fire, it may give you some hints to get it working.

Thanks Morf, but that didn't seem to help me.

With the annotations backup on the Touch, it shows a switch either on or off, there is no turn on or turn off.  So I am fairly sure that it is on when the switch shows on.

The home button idea did not work either.  I just find it odd because the Fire will sync to the last page read on the KT, but it does not get the bookmarks.  Also bookmarks from the Fire show up in the KT.  It's just that the bookmarks do not show up on the Fire.

Thanks again.

Turn on/Turn off was on the K3, I'm glad they've made it more sensible on the Touch!

I can't think of much else to suggest, we don't have either the Touch or the Fire over this side of the pond  Cry so let's hope somebody who has experience with them can suggest something.
