Hi, All! It appears that the folks on this board seem to know just about everything there is to know about the Kindle, so let's try one more: I am considering buying a Kindle for my wife for Christmas. The primary purpose would be so that she can keep up with the James Patterson novels (which appear to come with amazing regularity). My questions are, are all of the titles available on the Kindle library and how quickly do new titles become available? Thanks so much for your help!

Well, looking at "Kill Alex Cross" at Amazon, Kindle edition was released November 14, 2011 (along with hardcover). The paperback version releases May 22, 2012. The Kindle edition comes at a steep price. $14.99. Ouch.

Personally 8bug I would never ever pay over $8 for any patterson novel and that goes for any author not just patterson, no one is worth that ever. I think that the kindle would make things a lot easier to keep up with patterson. No need to run to a book store or a library to get the books that he writes no need to guess. Here is another way to keep up with his books:
Go to changedetection.com and sign up for change detection; Set up the change detection to point at jamespatterson.com/books
Now each time James Patterson makes a change to his list of books that he has written changedetection.com will email you and let you know what happened. I know that a change to his book list does not mean that he wrote a new novel, it may mean that he changed the font or edited some of the existing information in some way but at least its a good indicator that something may be going on and you don't need to figure out if there is a new book out there changedetection will let you know.

There are a whole mess of Patterson novels. The easiest way to tell if they are all on Kindle is probably to look on the site: James PattersonMy experience with Amazon has been that when I buy books by a popular author, such as Patterson, I get notified by email when a new book comes out because I've authorized Amazon to send me notifications. I don't always get an e-mail about a favorite author but Amazon rarely forgets to put anything new in my browsing history. New For You, it's called.

Patterson is a big fan of ereaders...an early Sony model came with a bunch of his titles pre-loaded and I've seen him on ads for the new nook tablet. So, yeah, I'd say you won't have any trouble finding it for kindle.

If you have bought a Patterson's book, you will be received an email when the new book comes.
