At this point, I'm just curious.  May have a spare 1st generation Kindle (in perfect working order) that I want to sell after Christmas, and I'm wondering if there's still any interest in this model.

I checked ebay, and it was good for a laugh but little more.  People don't seem to know what they're buying or selling when it comes to the K1, frequently advertising them as wifi only and sometimes even with Pearl e-ink screens, so obviously some unsuspecting folks are buying things they don't have a clue about . . . but figure people here at least know what a K1 is, and what it does.

This one is 3 1/2 years old and has never had a problem in its life, has been loved since day one, but is being replaced by a K3 (the recipient of which doesn't know it yet, though).  He's going to ask what should we do with the K1, so thought I'd start trying to figure it out before he expects me to come up with an answer.

Men - they're like that, yeah they are . . . some of 'em at least!

You would probably be best off just selling it back to Amazon via their electronics trade in program. . .you should get something around $20, give or take, for it.

I read here under the let's talk kindle section that you could trade in your old kindle and get a 50 dollar credit towards a new kindle at target. It may be worth checking out.

I checked out the Target offer and they only wanted to give me 16.00 for my K2.  At least Amazon offered me 37.00.  I'm not sure what they would offer for a K1.
