Yeah you can find lots of opinions across KB already. I'm most interested in what people will think a month from now when we have a good deal of experience under our belts.

I'll answer your question. I have books that do well in other "venues" so I chose not to enroll any of my books. It remains to be seen, but early 'indicators' are that it is following the pattern of every other sales strategy (for Amazon and indies). A few outliers are benefitting immensely, a few are benefitting enough to say it's working and for the majority, it's crossing your fingers and hoping for the best as time passes.

I noticed an immediate decrease in sales for my books that were in a crowded genre (fiction). My genre specific books (submission grappling, etc.) are doing fine at Amazon.

'Let's Do Lunch went from 396464 to 129 in 2 days - it's been in the Top Ten Free Romantic Suspense since yesterday.

I have three books and have been running their promos on different days, all with great success. GO BIKE & Other Signs from the Universe is ranked #1 in two categories right now and I've had a few people on FB let me know they bought the paperback version as Christmas presents.

Last Sunday I ran my Journals from the Heart series - Whispers from the Heart and Write from the Heart - for free and over 2,000 downloads resulted in that promo. Of course it's the long term results that matter, but my rankings that day were fabulous and sales continue each day for both...they're back at 99 cents for now. I'm also receiving a handful of "borrows" from Prime users.

Hope that helps - I think having more than one book makes a big difference...being able to promote one as free at a time.
