I've never had a set date for a book launch in which I tried to create a lot of buzz.  In other words, I've cast out my work into the world without much thought, figuring since "ebooks are forever" that a specific launch date didn't matter.  Now, since I've sold steadily, albeit slowly, I'm rethinking this tactic.  Any thoughts on how to transform a book launch into event instead of a shy whimper from the back of the room?

There's plenty of ways to do a book launch. Local conventions (if you're involved in the 'con scene), online, grouping with other authors, book signings at local stores, etc.

There's a million different ways to do it depending upon how you want to do it Smiley

A blog tour is one common way. I organized a small one for myself when I launched Burden Kansas. Basically, I posted a thread here trading guest spots with other people who'd written vampire books. Between me featuring those writers, and me being feature on their sites, it lasted a a few weeks and drummed up some pretty good sales. It was quite a bit of work, though.

To get big book blogs involved, I think it's easiest to hire a book blog tour service.
