So I have an KT3GSO in the lighted case. I had something fall behind the dryer and had to get the step ladder. While trying to navigate the ladder back out of the kitchen into the garage, I knocked into the railing where my Kindle and my husband's Kindle were stacked. They went flying off. My Kindle landed face down with cover open. His landed still closed (K3 in the Amazon case, so has the bungee). The screen is fine, but now I have a dozen or so small nicks in the faceplate from landing on the hardwood floor. There is also a little cut in the rubber for the case. I really should have been paying closer attention!
It still looks pretty good (the nicks blend in to the dark silver finish) and works perfect.

Sorry to hear about the accident. If there is nothing wrong with the screen, you can always buy a skin to cover the scratches.

I hate that feeling when you hear the 'clunk' as your piece of prized electronics hits the floor, phone, kindle, they all lead to the same......aaahhh.....feeling lol.

The Infection Journal is a record of a survivor that documents the developments of the outbreak and the experiences that lead him to question the value of life in a world where society is descending into the darkness of a dead civilization.

I have dropped my kindle three many times and fortunately for me it has always been on the non screen side of it and so far, knock on wood, its been none the worse for wear.

Mine's hit the deck a couple times. Thankfully the deck is covered in a rather thick carpet and padding, so not much damage (if any at all).

Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that.

I read in the tub every night. Somehow the showerhead fell one night and WHAM it hit right on the screen of my Kindle. It made a horrible noise and I almost cried. Once I grew balls to look -- it was fine!! I couldn't believe it. So glad yours is okay too!!

So glad it was fine! That is the worst feeling, hearing that sound and knowing it is something breakable and beloved falling and hitting the floor.
Makes me cringe just thinking about it.

I guess I'd recommend a good case. Best I've found is a nice cherry case on this obscure website. I saw some guy using it in a Starbucks and bought one for my brother for Christmas. http://rcnunnally.com/Good Luck, 007

Even cosmetic blemishes bug me, because your'e going to be staring at it for hundreds and hundreds of hours.
One definite bonus of paper is that if you mess up a page, you can turn it.

"Wow, your Kindle is covered with dings and scratches." "Yes, I bought it in an antique store and had to pay extra for the distressed model." Now, do not be surprised when your friends say, "Really?" You will be oh, so, special.
"Yes, it's shrapnel damage for the bomb. The Kindle survived but, well, my auntie didn't." "Oh, how tragic."
Really, when you're having fun, honesty is sorely over-rated. Testifying in court, it matters, for some.
