I am a relatively new Kindle owner, (from Fathers day). How do you download books to your Kindle from suppliers like Gutenberg.org? Is there a way to do it directly from the Kindle or do you have to do something like download to your computer then somehow transfer it to the Kindle. I have been dragged kicking and screaming into the digital, internet age, but now that I am here at at age 71 and texting to my granddaughters  on my iPhone, I will try to fit in and learn what I can. Old dogs can actually learn new tricks.

You can use the Kindle's experimental browser and type in the full URL (address) of the file on Gutenberg.org.
You can download the file to your computer, attach your Kindle with a USB cable, and copy the file from your computer to the documents folder of your Kindle.

WOW! This old dog has learned a new trick. Thanks. I did it a little different though. I went to experimental, clicked on web browser, selected Google, Typed my Gutenberg address and it took me there, then at Gutenberg I selected download Kindle and my book came directly to the Kindle bypassing the computer.

Thanks again Jeff

BTW my son in law is a Texan.

Always happy to help those older than me.  Grin Even if they're only a year older.

Ha! You will find, as I have, that those older than you get fewer and fewer.

Hover your mouse over the black bar (spoiler) in my previous message, and you will find that I know.
