Regional Restrictions of Kindle for Asia & Pacific?

Hi there.

By way of prelude:
I am very interested in purchasing some form of ereader. Kindle appears, technologically and financially, to be the most attractive one after trawling through a fair few customer as well as professional reviews, so I'm almost set to press the "Buy" button now - but I'm finding it difficult to find concrete information on the DRM in regards to NZ (where I reside 100% of the time).

Is anyone able to tell me (directly, or just through linking my google-ineffectual bum towards some information) how much content is not available in the Asia/Pacific region?

I'm a little worried after getting a "Blogs are not available in your country or region" message after a search on amazon.com because while convenient access to books is the main reason I want to buy a Kindle, if it did not allow me to access blogs - I'm an avid follower of a few like A Life Worth Eating and BadScience - I may just end up holding off. Feels like I should get myself properly informed before making a decision.

I did look around here and there before making this post but I tend not to get the best results from searches, which I think is due to English being my second language - I overcomplicate search terms or use incorrect associations.

Hi Gelbvieh,
Unfortunately blogs as well as games and apps are not available for us in the Asia Pacific region. Sadly, same goes for some books, a number of books that are free in the US Kindle store cost us US$ 2.- while most of the other books are US$ 2.- more expensive for Asia Pacific customers.
