Can someone please help me out with the phone # for Kindle CS? I'm at work and can't access Amazon.com from here. I'm going to need a replacement KT, the battery on mine drains far too quickly and it seems to like to reset itself for no reason Thanks in advance

Thank you!
I called, no replacement yet, they wanted me to try a few things. Which I had done already but will do again. Said to charge it out of it's case because the case could cause it to overheat and not charge right? Well, I didn't even own a case for the first few weeks I had it and had the same issues. Anyhow, didn't sound quite right to me but I'll do as they say and see what happens. She also said that the touch battery would drain faster because of the touch screen to which I asked why their website says it has a 2 month battery life just like the K3 ... she said "good point" and left it at that.

A Kindle Touch would definitely still be under warranty: Contact Kindle CS first. The Kindles are generally NOT designed to be taken apart and the batteries replaced by the user. . . doing so would void your warranty, so I'd not recommend that course unless it's no longer covered. Even then, I'd recommend contacting Amazon first as they are, historically, very responsive.

Did you get the problem resolved? Or is there still some pending issues? Basically I'm just wondering how the Kindle and the Kindle customer service are. Hope everything turns out though! (Or has already turned out...)

I did a full charge after talking to CS and have yet to turn the wireless on since. Battery level has definitely gone down a little, we'll see what morning brings. It did reset on it's own once this afternoon so again, we'll see.
It's most definitely under warranty, I've not quite had it a month yet.

Frankly? I would call back and speak to a different CS rep, a supervisor if necessary. Good as Amazon usually is, not all their reps are created equal. if it's spontaneously resetting, that's not right. Betsy

I will probably do that Betsy, perhaps after work tonight. I'll see how things go today since I plan to be reading on it a lot.
I was quite surprised as well, especially since it was the Kindle specialist who I spoke to the most and some of the things she was telling me were odd to say the least.

Betsy I'm not having any particular problems that I know of, but it has spontaneously reset a few times. That's when screen flashes and Kindle logo / tree on a hill pops on screen with progress bar? Seems to be OK after that. Shouldn't do it though for no apparent reason?

Mine has done that too Sandpiper. And, no, it shouldn't be doing that.

I had a K3 that did this but I could live with it, so I did. Then my K3 got a crack in the case so Amazon sent a replacement. No spontaneous resetting!!! Wonder of wonders! I wish I would have called CS months earlier because it was so nice to have a K3 that didn't reset all of the time. Call them! Get a replacement. It shouldn't be doing that!
