My boss has been talking about getting a Kindle for a couple of months now so my 3 coworkers and I went together and got him a $100 Amazon gift card for Christmas. I created a card with Santa holding a Kindle and we put the giftcard inside. The look on his face when he opened was priceless. He was so surprised. He never married and has very little family so even though he can buy anything he want, getting a special present was such a surprise for him. You could just feel his excitement. I brought my new Touch in its new cover to work with me today so he would be able to decide which Kindle he wanted. He had me come to his office after lunch and help him load the gift card and buy his new Kindle Touch. He also bought the lighted cover. I'm sure the day after he gets it we will be in his office playing with it.

What a great story!!! I bet he will definitely appreciate the Kindle more since it was given as a gift. And a gift he wasn't expecting!!

My biggest regret was not having a camera to see the look he had on his face when he saw the gift card. It will be easy to buy for him now. Amazon got cards for birthday and Christmas forever.

That's cool. Reading has a way of making us all not feel as lonely, you know what I mean. All those folks jumping off the pages. Your boss, I'm sure, was touched.

He came in this morning all smiles. His Kindle has already shipped. He is hoping it comes by Saturday. He sent us this email:
"Just wanted to say "thank you again" for your Christmas present. You have no idea how much I appreciate your present. I am overwhelmed by your generosity!!!"
This made Christmas for me. Miss my Children and Grandchildren at Christmas, but know you have good fiends to share this holiday with is so special. Merry Christmas to my Kindleboards family.

I LOVE this story! My 4 sisters and I went in to get my dad the Fire. He mentioned it in an email to us all once and we jumped. He never asks for anything or says he wants something - he usually just gets it. I'm super excited to give it to him!

That is such a nice story - I always get a little letdown feeling the day after Christmas, so it's nice hearing stories like that.

I have just about converted everyone in my department to Kindles. We all travel at least two weeks out of every month and lots of time more. The Kindle is so wonderful when traveling not having to take 2 or 3 books in your luggage is great. Out of 8 only 2 don't have Kindles but are about to buy them. I was the first but now that price has gone down everyone is more interested. My boss and 2 others got Kindles for Christmas. I feel like the Kindle help desk.
