I have the Kindle which now seems to be Kindle Keyboard.  I do not have 3G, but just wifi.  I have not figured out how to set the time.  If I synch it to a computer, it will download books which have not yet been downloaded, but it doesn't change the time.  What in the world am I missing?

Go to MENU => SETTINGS => DEVICE TIME (it's on the second screen of SETTINGS).

You must set it manually, there is no way to have the WiFi version get set automatically. A strange lapse from Amazon.

Thank you, Mike.  I must have suffered from brain freeze.

Time is an illusion anyway. What we really need is an accurate indicator of which universe within the multiverse we are currently traveling through. I hope Amazon is working on that.

I don't know if this will help, but I noticed what I think is a quirk or an oversight with the Fire (maybe it applies here too.)

It says it gets the time automatically, which it did, except that I still had to go into the date and time settings to change the time zone.  You would think that it would be like a cell phone and pull the right time zone geographically too.

I expect that's due to the difference between being able to connect via a cell phone network and only being able to connect via WiFi.  I mean, I have to tell all my computers the right time zone when I first set them up too.  But after that they know how to keep track and make the proper adjustments even for switching to and from DST.
