Nope, no new Kindle for me. I am still loving my K2i, which I received for Christmas two years ago.

Santa must have thought that I was bad since I didn't get the new Kindle. I guess I will have to buy one myself.

I went for the cheap option - software on PC and Iphone. Problem is Kindle on Iphone doesn't have search (just found out why - apple !!! aargh!) and having the SW on teh laptop / PC isn't exactly practical - so I may have to buy one after all. I wonder if I can get the wife to buy me one?

Yes, I bought myself the Kindle Touch for Christmas, I love it. I have the K3, but wanted the touch, and it was between the KTouch and the Nook ST. I went with the Kindle and could not be happier. Downloading library books over the internet instead of having to side load is great. I'm really enjoying my new toy!!

I upgraded from the K2-3G only, so I'm very excited to get library books straight over the internet. Of course, I've got three books on my to-read list first!!

I went to Walmart today and didn't see any of the $79 Kindles. So I asked a clerk if they were out. She told me that Walmart had raised the price to $99, which didn't sound right.
Then I went to another Walmart store and asked the same question. The clerk pulled one out from under the counter. He also showed me where the Kindle 4 covers were.
I bought it for $79 and also bought a Kindle 4 cover, put out by Amazon.
So I now have a Kindle 4. I registered it on line, which is easier to do than registering it using the Kindle. Now I have 4 Kindles registered to my account. I have one, my wife has one, my mother-law has one, and I have the baby Kindle also. I can only add two more Kindles so hope they don't change too soon.
I played around with the Kindle 4 for a while and found it not that much different than the Kindle 3.
It is really small and weighs a lot less. My wife weighed it, and it was half the weight of the Keyboard Kindle.
Now I will see if I like it as well as my Kindle 3. I really didn't need the Kindle 4, but I like trying new things.
I downloaded my free book for the day, and it downloaded fine so everything seems to be working as expected. It seemed to me that it download faster than the Kindle 3.

Not true. You can register as many kindles or kindle apps to your account as you want to. I currently have 5 devices and 3 apps. And I am by no means the record holder. There are a couple of folks here who have over a dozen. The limitiation is simply that, unless otherwise stated, the same book can't be on more than 6 devices at the same time.
