You can't change the volume, skip chapters or see where you are in the book. They really need to update a LOT of the KT internal software because its usability is as low as it gets

Mind you, it could be that these things are not activated in all books, though I would find that surprising. Here's the screenshot for Bossypants The bar below the synopsis is the location bar. Tapping anywhere on it takes one to that point in the book. If you want to be at the beginning of a chapter, tapping the doubleheaded arrows below it on the left and the right will take you to the beginning of the current chapter, the beginning of the next chapter, or move you through the book one chapter at a time. The arrows with :30 below them move you forward or backward 30 seconds at a time. The bar at the very bottom is the volume bar. (Those items are grayed out in my screenshot as the book is not playing at the time of the screenshot. Hit the play button and those options become usable.) Or are you talking about Text to Speech? Which is not an Audible product. But you can still adjust volume, and use the book's features to move about in the book. Betsy

tradingbr-- Did I read in another thread that you are using the Touch outside the US? It could be that these features aren't available outside the US, for whatever reason... Betsy

Maybe the OP is trying to use regular audio books through the MP3 player and not books purchased from Audible.com. If that's the case, then they wouldn't be able to use those features.

Ahhh. I've never tried audiobooks on the Kindle before as I bought my K1 to read on and used my iPod for audiobooks--easier to carry (still is, LOL). Good point.

I just use my Creative MP3 players for all my audiobooks. Makes me happy and I don't have a bigger Kindle to drag around with me. My feeling is that audiobooks are just too big and take up too much space on a Kindle. If you were going on a long trip and wanted to take lots of audio books, don't use the Kindle, but for one book it works fine.

I found the problem. I'm using my KT on Landscape mode(A Hack that Jailbreak enables). So sometimes the bottom of the screen doesn't show up. Same thing happens when I'm trying to goto a specific page
thanks
