I'm a little bummed, and I know you folks will understand. Despite mailing it on the 15th, the package with gifts for my entire family (great aunt, parents, sister, nieces, and great nephew) hasn't yet arrived. They did Christmas today. I was SO looking forward to hearing about my sister's reaction to the kindle (baby) I got her, she's been wanting one for a long time but finances haven't cooperated with her. I was an idiot to not get tracking/confirmation on the package (it was supposed to arrive on the 20th), luckily I did insure it. Not that I want to mess with that, but still. Anyway, I know it's a very very very minor problem indeed, and we're lucky enough that with just a little rebudgeting we can replace everything even if the post office doesn't reimburse me (they'd better!!), but still, frustrating.

I had debated leaving the kindle registered to my account so she could share with me, but didn't. VERY glad for that. If it doesn't show up soon, I wonder if I can call customer service and report it lost, even though it's not currently linked to me. Sigh.

That is a bummer!  Don't all Kindles ship with tracking numbers??  You should definitely be able to trace it and have it replaced if it's been lost/stolen!

Aw...that's too bad. Hopefully it will arrive on Tuesday when the post office starts delivering again. I noticed there were some definite delays this year even with tracked Priority Mail--one package we had took five full days to go a thousand miles down the West Coast. I can drive it in 14 hours!

I mailed a package 2nd day priority leaving Oklahoma on Wednesday for delivery in San Antonio.  It was scheduled for delivery yesterday.  It was delivered late this afternoon -- very late.  In time, yes; but the Post Office really cut that one close.

I wouldn't do it until you're absolutely sure, but, yes, if it's completely gone missing contact Kindle CS to report it as such. They'll blacklist it so it can't be registered.  If it should turn up you can call them back and let them know it's been located and they'll release the lock out.

Everything I sent USPS took 3 days longer than expected to be delivered, so maybe it will get there on Tuesday...

I wasn't clear, sorry. No, it wasn't shipping from Amazon - I had them ship it to me so I could wrap it all together with a gift card, book light, and homemade sleeve. (And so I could play with it. Ahem. Am bad sister.)

Thanks, all. I have my fingers crossed it gets there this coming week, but it's already four days late so my hopes aren't too high. Will definitely have Amazon blacklist it if it doesn't turn up, shame I can't do anything about the Target gift cards...

When you're late shipping, it happens.

She will lve the Fire so much that she won't mind that the gift is late.  In fact, when your package arrives it will be like a second Christmas celebration for everyone.

As noted, I sent it on the 15th with an expected delivery of the 20th. Hardly a case of me being late shipping it, but thanks.

A friend sent me a package from CA and it pushed the end of the 5 days, AND the priority box was destroyed. The stuff she had inside wrapped in tissue paper I had to re-wrap! I can't recall a priority package so beat up.

Here is hoping it shows in the next couple of days.

I am surprised though that you can ensure without tracking it, so maybe you have some number that will work?

maybe its because I am a mom but late presants can have more time as Xmas activities have slowed down. I hope all mail stuff if resolved soon.

This is horrible. Hopefully it'll only be a couple days late. Best of luck.

The USPS service is definitely much worse than previous years.  I'm sorry your package didn't arrive in time for Christmas.   I mailed the box of gifts to my DD in the large Priority Mail box here in NVA on 12/15 (Thur.) about 11:00 a.m. and it arrived and was in her hands in Miami FL on 12/19 at 1:00 p.m.   Considering the post master told me it wouldn't get there until the 21st I was rather pleased.  Of course it cost $14.95 to mail it!  Shocked

My daughter mailed her Priority Mail package to us from Miami on 12/23 and, naturally, it's still in transit. Grin  I'm not sure when it will get here.
