Download complete followed by error when downloading archived items

So I got a new Kindle touch and am trying to transfer my books from my old kindle.  I tap each item, it says pending, then download complete, then error.  These are store bought books and non-store bought.  Anyone know how to get it working?

Yes.  Some of them worked and some of them didn't.  I think maybe the amazon servers are slammed or something.

Given the amount of new users likely to be downloading today, it's quite possible Amazon is being slightly overrun.

One other thing you could try, is to restart the device, if you haven't already done so - it often cures these kind of glitches and is always worth a try.

I'm having the same issue today trying to download books to my husband's new Kindle.  It is very frustrating.  I called CS and was told they were doing something with the servers and to try again later.

I had the same problem but an hour or so later, it was fine. I think the servers we just overloaded. Understandable with it being Christmas and so many people trying their new Kindles all at once.

My granddaughter had problems registering her new K to her account, I think it was the same problem....
